Injustice: Nnamdi Kanu Remains In Prison As Tinubu Frees Over 700 Terrorists by truthera(op):
Earlier this year, 100 terrorists were released by the government, now it has increased to over 700 terrorists.....When I say that Nigeria is a hopeless cause, a contraption or call it a "zoo" as Nnamdi Kanu rightly calls it, many of you on this platform, will attack my post or get angry because you don't want to accept your reality. How do you justify or convince yourself about supporting the continued existence of a terrible country like Nigeria? How do some of you with a clear conscience look at the brazen injustice that Nigeria represents and still defend it? As long as Nigerians do not push for a referendum, this injustice will increase, Fulani terrorists will continue to enjoy government privilege and protection.... There is no other way to put it, Nigeria is an abomination to not only Africa but mankind, it is an unsustainable mess that has to end.... I expect the usual foolish hostility from many of you that are reading this post in defense of your "One Nigeria" and your government's rehabilitation of fulani terrorists.... It's a shame.

Below is latest news as posted today by Punch Newspaper stating what your terrorist loving government is doing even as many continue to lose their lives, properties destroyed, Oyo state students and teachers remain in captivity while Nnamdi Kanu whose only offense was trying to defend his people against these terrorists remains in prison, a new batch of over 700 real deadly terrorists have been freed by Tinubu and his northern collaborators, they have been shielded from prosecution, reintegrated back into society over a fake "rehabilitation" program to continue from where they stopped....

The Borno State Government has reintegrated a total of 720 repentant insurgents who have completed their deradicalisation, rehabilitation and reintegration programme back into society.

The latest batch, described as low-risk and minor clients, is part of Batch 9 under the state’s rehabilitation initiative and was sworn in using the Holy Quran before being released to return to their respective communities across the state.

The Special Adviser on Security to Governor Babagana Zulum, Brigadier General Ishaq Abdullahi (retd.), disclosed this on Friday at an event held at the Hajj Camp in Maiduguri to mark the completion of their rehabilitation process.

He said the exercise represents another milestone in the state’s non-kinetic approach to counter-insurgency in the North-East, describing it as one of the most effective peacebuilding models globally.

Abdullahi said the initiative, which began on July 5, 2021, under Governor Babagana Zulum, has recorded large-scale participation from former fighters who voluntarily surrendered.

He said, “It has been a success story since 5th July 2021 when the good people of Borno State, under the stewardship of our dynamic leader, Prof Babagana Umara Zulum, agreed to forgive and accept their sons who are willing to drop arms and embrace peace.

“Today, the Borno model is adjudged to be one of the most effective non-kinetic programmes in the history of mankind, with over 350,000 persons who willingly exited the bush and surrendered to the military.”

He added that with the latest 720 beneficiaries, the total number of reintegrated persons under the programme has risen to 9,680 across batches 1 to 9.

He, however, said the reintegration exercise also included 992 spouses and 2,050 children associated with the former insurgents.

He explained that the reintegration process began when repentant insurgents voluntarily exited the bush and reported to military locations, where initial profiling and disarmament were carried out.

He noted that participants were engaged in structured rehabilitation programmes, including Islamic teachings, counselling, hygiene education, drug abuse awareness, and various vocational training sessions.

“The camps’ administrators kept them busy with various programmes geared towards deradicalisation and preparing them for life after camp.

“Tuesdays and Thursdays were for Islamic programmes, lectures on hygiene, drug abuse and other fields, while Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays were for skill acquisition programmes such as metal works, carpentry, tailoring, pot making, brick laying, barbing, cap making, repair of phones, solar installation, vulcanising and repairs of motorcycles,” he said.

Abdullahi said the state government also provided starter packs to support the reintegration of the beneficiaries into civilian life.

He said community leaders, alongside the Civilian Joint Task Force and hunters, screened the individuals before recommending them for reintegration.

“They are from Bama LGA, Kondugua LGA, MMC, Jere, Mafa, Dikwa, Gwoza, Damboa, Marte, Mongunu, Kukawa, Gbambolu Ngala, Kalabarge and Gubio,” he added.

He urged the beneficiaries to return to their communities as law-abiding citizens and contribute positively to peace and development efforts.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Zuwaira Gambo, represented by Permanent Secretary Babagana Kadai, described the programme as a symbol of hope, reconciliation and resilience.

She commended Governor Zulum for what she described as his visionary leadership in peacebuilding, noting that the administration has continued to resettle displaced families and rebuild communities affected by insurgency.

It's so unfortunate. Few days ago, we heard that some of the so called repentant terrorists killed some Nigerian soldiers. How will the soldiers feel now that some other ones are being released back into the society now?

I am beginning to suspect that it's either the south east leaders don't want him out deliberately,or he knows too much to be set free.

I don't think Nnamdi Kanu had been arrested when I said on this forum that Nnamdi Kanu would die a miserable death. I wrote it in Igbo language and also in English on several threads.

My prophecy will surely come to pass.

More revelation

The beneficiaries, who had previously surrendered to troops in different operations across the state, were processed through rehabilitation camps at the Hajj Camp in Maiduguri, where authorities said they underwent skills acquisition training, counselling, and ideological reorientation.

The Borno State government has reintegrated a total of 720 repentant insurgents, alongside 992 spouses and 2,050 children, back into society after completing what officials described as deradicalisation, disarmament, and rehabilitation programmes under the state’s controversial peacebuilding initiative known as the “Borno Model.”

The beneficiaries, who had previously surrendered to troops in different operations across the state, were processed through rehabilitation camps at the Hajj Camp in Maiduguri, where authorities said they underwent skills acquisition training, counselling, and ideological reorientation.

They were formally reintegrated during a ceremony held on Friday, with officials saying the group constitutes Batch 9 low-risk and minor clients under the state’s ongoing non-kinetic approach to counter-insurgency.

He said the reintegration exercise marks another milestone in what the government calls the “Borno Model,” a framework built on forgiveness, surrender incentives, and rehabilitation.

“It has been a success story since 5th July 2021, when the good people of Borno State under the stewardship of our dynamic leader, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, agreed to forgive and accept their sons who are willing to drop arms and embrace peace,” he said.

According to him, the model has reportedly seen more than 350,000 individuals exit insurgent camps and surrender over time, though the figures remain independently unverified.

He disclosed that those reintegrated in the latest batch had undergone structured rehabilitation programmes at the Hajj Camp, including education, vocational training, and behavioural reorientation.

“Their way back from the bush began with a call from their colleagues encouraging them to surrender, embrace peace and reunite with their parents,” Ishaq said.

He added that individuals who surrendered were initially profiled by the military, while those in possession of weapons handed them over during the process. However, he acknowledged that some who attempted to leave insurgent camps did not survive before reaching military locations.

According to him, successful returnees were later transferred to rehabilitation facilities where they were kept under structured daily routines.

He said Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays were dedicated to vocational training in trades such as metalwork, tailoring, carpentry, bricklaying, solar installation, phone repairs, vulcanising, and motorcycle maintenance, while Tuesdays and Thursdays were reserved for religious instruction, hygiene awareness, and anti-drug abuse education.

Women participants were also reportedly trained in tailoring, soap making, knitting, and related skills.

Ishaq added that starter packs had been provided to support beneficiaries as they return to their communities.

He said with the latest batch, the total number of persons reintegrated under the programme has reached 9,680 across nine batches, covering multiple local government areas including Bama, Gwoza, Dikwa, Jere, Monguno, and others.

He also noted that community leaders and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) participated in screening and verification processes before the reintegration approval.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Babagana Kadai, described the programme as a broader effort to restore hope and rebuild communities devastated by years of insurgency in the North-East.

He said the administration of Governor Zulum has continued to earn recognition for its rehabilitation-driven approach, which includes resettlement of displaced families, reconstruction of infrastructure, and social support programmes for vulnerable populations.
