Come and see the real definition of unkempt here😄

My Baby and I forgot to wear our wigs to the farm.

Ahhh! She's playing with sand, she's not supposed to touch it.

You can mess with me on my thread and I will stay quiet but messing with a 1 year old is the height of it.

You called my baby unhealthy, look at her body shape and energy, does she look hungry to you?
You said so many things because you want to get me pained and I'll still remind you that she's not the cause of your problems.

After today, you will be mindful of what you comment on Nairaland.

Meanwhile, I'll keep documenting our lives on Nairaland and you can keep crying about it.

Peace ✌️🙂
Keep going Ma'am, I'll advise you ignore those attention seekers. Some people are naturally bitter and always looking for where to drop their frustration.

Farming is actually for the poor

Rich kids like davido don't farm

That's why they look fresh

For millennia, farming has not been lucrative unless you had a bunch of land and underpaid people running it.

That's completely changed over the last decade or so due to technology and advancements in knowledge. But people don't know that yet. They'll figure it out though because farming is on the rise everywhere, including the US.

Eventually, farming will be seen more as the real business it is because of the tech, knowledge, certainty, and profits.

I got married to an agriculturist that always want to experiment everything he studied in school.

Yes, where I come from, people see farming as suffering but my husband sees it as fun.

I'm like, you are using the farming thing to joke because you didn't come from a home that their children go to farm daily, by now, e for don tire you.

He will just laugh about it and reply,
“It’s always worth it.”
And honestly, doing this with him is fun.

What some people see as suffering, others see as opportunity.
What some people call dirty work, others call food, business, peace, and investment.

Now this Yam-Sack Farming we’re doing has become another reminder that farming is not just about hardship. It can also be creative, productive, and even exciting when done with passion and knowledge.
At the end of the day, farming feeds everybody, rich or poor.

Leave all these sadists that hates seeing people happy. You're doing great teaching her about nature at a very young age, keep it up and you'll thank God when she grows.

Here in nigeria we think farming is poor man's business, but we cry and lament at the price of foodstuffs, yet nobody wants to farm.
Those who think farmers are poor, let the poor farmers go on strike just for a week or two or a month, let's see what you'll eat.

What is the meaning of agro trader and farmer?
concho:
I have been involved in both farming and the trading of agricultural produce, and I am still active in the latter today. Based on my experience, I can confidently say that farming in Nigeria is largely a survival venture for the poor. Of course, a poor person cannot afford to operate a large scale irrigated farm.

What an agro trader can make in a single month, many farmers struggle to earn in an entire year.

As for sack farming, I would only do it out of a passion for agriculture. From a profitability standpoint, I would rather drink beer and catfish with the money

When you factor in the cost of seedlings, labour, maintenance, transportation, and the sheer stress involved, it becomes clear that many Nigerian farmers are simply storing money in the soil rather than running a truly profitable business.

This is not to say farming is impossible to profit from, but for the average small scale farmer in Nigeria, the returns often do not justify the investment, effort, and risk

yinkeys:
Unfortunately Tinubu reduced the purchasing power of people
Insecurity
Hyper inflation on the rise due to dollar exchange rate and other economic factors
Only mechanized farming is the way to go if the average man wants significant wealth from farming
Subsistence farming and the use of ancient tools isn’t the way to go
You're right though.
It's not for commercial purpose, it's just for the family.

The yam seedlings wasn't bought, we cut out a little part (the head part) of every yam we eat and save them for planting.
So we did this at our convenience, it's a backyard system, which any family can easily implement.

Agriculture is the next oil money in Nigeria but most people don't know that. I had a friend who resigned from his rig work at the age of 45 to go into farming. His friends laughed at him. Fast forward ten years later, he's a major dealer in exporting farm produce, he's set up his kids and he makes approximately almost N10m a month from his farm.

You'll never regret it.
Just a little backyard farm.

There are some things I buy occasionally from the market, like pumpkin leaves and fresh pepper.

A very happy and playful soul 😄

Mark Zuckerberg is richer but farms (cattle farming)

Former President (Olusegun Obasanjo established Obasanjo Farms Nigeria Limited immediately after leaving military office in 1979) has one of the largest farms while in presidency and still farms.

So relax, farming is not everyone's passion but those that see the benefit of it will indulge in it.

I plant vegetables in big grow bags at home for me and my family's consumption. I plant ewedu and Efo Tete . I feel really good when the Ewedu grows to consumption stage within 5 weeks. I live farming. And I really want to have up to 5 orchards filled with all kinds of fruits 🙂🙂. I harvested a big bunch of bananas last week. I am trying to plant citrus e .g Grapes and Oranges this year.
