Liar. In the 70s , 80s and 90s electricity supply was decent. You didn't need to own a generator. Privatization under OBj led to govt selling it's assets. Who brought the crazy idea? Meanwhile we have investment in our telecoms sector because government does not interfere with the teelcom companies pricing of services

It costs 250 naira and more to produce one kWh of electricity. Government until last year was forcing the discos to sell the power at a lower price. The band a matter is not improving things because the profit discos make from band A is dwarfed by the losses they make from selling at a loss to other bands

The subsidy payments for the losses are also not frequent and government is refusing to pay them in full.

I mean, is it not somehow that power companies should sell power at a loss and in return we get light 24)7? that is not possible.

Electricity has been sold at a loss in Nigeria for over 50 years. If not more. Just to keep the.masses happy. It is why we have had power cuts since 1978.

Once we allow electricity to be sold at a price that would enable discos and gencos meet their operating costs and expansion costs , we will have light all the time . It is that simple.

Yet saying the above , which is bloody simple economics and business practise means I am an APC supporter.

I mean you are now saying that your market trader , telecoms provider and car salesman and even your hawker of groundnut supports APC because they sell their goods and services at a price that would be profitable for them and their business

Even the corruption in the power sector is happening because profit is not being made.

Yet Nigerians cannot see the answer. This is the bad government policy. A lack of cost reflective tarrif. A condoning of electricity theft. This leads to bad power supply
