NDC: Rescue Party, Rescue Thyself by CharlesCNG(op): 9:34am On Jun 14
For a party that wants to deliver Nigeria, NDC is spending an embarrassing amount of time trying to deliver itself from itself.

Now we are told that **Dickson and Obi have “resolved” their dispute after a three-hour closed-door meeting.** For a new party, that is hardly a badge of strength. It is more like a newborn baby already needing family intervention before it has even learned how to sit. A platform that has barely arranged its own chairs is already promising to rearrange the entire furniture of the federation.

That is the comedy of NDC.

It was advertised as a fresh rescue vehicle, but from the beginning it has looked more like a borrowed bus full of restless passengers fighting over the front seat. First came the drama of defections, then the quarrels over tickets, then the Aisha Yesufu noise, then the Dickson boundary-drawing, and now a “closed-door peace meeting” as if the party is already an old house full of inherited bitterness.

There is a proverb for this: **the man who cannot carry his own mat should not boast of carrying the market stall.**

If this is what NDC looks like before the real campaign even starts, what will happen when governorship tickets, presidential strategy, zoning fights, and regional egos begin to clash fully? A party that needs emergency reconciliation before it can even settle into itself should be humble in its language of national redemption.

Because the truth is simple:

**NDC has not yet shown Nigeria a government-in-waiting. It has only shown Nigeria a quarrel-in-progress.**

And that is the putdown at the heart of it all:
**before NDC talks of delivering Nigeria, it should first prove it can survive itself without another closed-door rescue operation.**

Why can't Peter obi and obedient form a party that will not have all these challenges.

Seriake Dickson is merely using Peter Obi's political popularity to shore up his image in preparation for running as a VP to Kwankwaso in 2031. They are not serious at winning the presidency in 2027, otherwise, he wouldn't be fighting the support base of the NDC, which was largely unknown. Apparently, Obi and his Obidients didn't do their homework before entering a one chance vehicle called NDC. Henry Seriake Dickson is half Yoruba and half Ijaw. I don't see him antagonising his brother cheesy
I have the believe that even Kwankwaso is going to ditch Obi invariably. He always avoid public function with him and anytime they appear together, Obi looks more like his boy than being the main candidate.

A Kwankwaso/Dickson ticket from NDC can’t defeat APC if Tinubu wins a second term.

Should APC win next year, be rest assured that RMK chances of becoming president in 2031 are much slimmer than El Rufai if ADC fields him.

The Reason is very simple.
Peter Obi and the Obidient movement suffer from what I call the **Aba Trader Syndrome**: the habit of renting another man’s shop, repainting the signboard, and then complaining when the landlord increases rent or locks the gate.

If the movement is truly as massive, disciplined, and revolutionary as claimed, why has it not built its own political house?

From APGA to PDP to Labour Party and now endless coalition shopping, Obi’s politics increasingly resembles a rolling stone that gathers no moss. Always moving, always negotiating tenancy, never laying foundations.

The Labour Party crisis should have taught a lesson: when you enter a house you did not build, you inherit its leaking roof, bad wiring, and landlord troubles.

Movements may trend online, but only institutions win and govern sustainably.

The question is simple: why keep renting platforms when you claim to own the crowd?

**100 words max**

Peter Obi’s politics reflects the **Aba Trader Syndrome**: renting another man’s shop, repainting it, then crying when the landlord changes the lock.

APGA, PDP, Labour Party, now coalition shopping — always moving, never building. A rolling stone gathers no moss.

If the Obidient movement is truly massive, why not build its own political house?

The Labour Party crisis proved the danger of tenancy: when you enter a house you did not build, you inherit its cracks.

Movements trend.

Institutions endure.

Why keep renting platforms when you claim to own the crowd?
