What are you saying, really?

Sirchucks:
Are you saying that its good we don't have electricity?

It’s not a unique situation. Ask Venezuela.
Of all the examples, you had to pick the absolute worst? That's the "I better pass my neighbour" mentality extressing itself freely through you. Well done sir.

Uk is abetting the corruption / bad leadership in Nigeria and never allows Nigeria to work for their selfish gain. They select and put stoog leaders to do their bidding and if you don't they remove you. What mineral resource does Britain have? Let them and other western world allow Africa to develop by electing the right leaders without interfering and without sucking us dry and Africa will be the next destination.
No one allowed China bro. Iran is fighting for her existence right now. In all of history, no one allowed anyone. We are so unfortunate to have puppets in power, not leaders.

Tell them ooooo.

Plastic nation full of noise makers.

No electricity

No good roads

No emergency services

No good security network
Nigeria's large heart is the reason for the rot.
Let me tell you what I'd have done:
1)I'd not subsidise any form of energy, electricity, gas, diesel ,etc from the get go.
You want energy?you pay!

2) There's hardly a country in Africa that has built as much roads as Nigeria, however because everyone was allowed to run amock in the name of hustle,it bastardised all the roads that were built.
I'd introduce a weigh system across all highways and whoever exceeds their given load capacity pays an instant fine to the government. This money will be used for road maintenance.

There's emergency services, however people just can't afford them because they can't even buy proper health insurance for themselves, let alone pay for such services.Same like in the US amongst poor neighborhoods.

What are you talking about.
Decent electricity which 70's, 80's or 90''s.
The first generator I can remember in my household was bought sometime around '79 when we moved houses. Cannot remember anything before that.

But I clearly remember NEPA 'taking light' right in the middle of Nigeria's second game at the 1985 U16 World Cup game and I cried my eyes out because no one was around to put on the genset.

For years after that Saturday trips to NEPA and NITEL complaint offices was our steady diet especially during the rainy season.

So please just rule out 80's and 90's at the very least, it was the same heat and hell.
That's because you lived in a village at that time, I bet there were no access roads to erect poles too. I lived in no man's land Kano, in the 80s and 90s power supply was much better than today. You can count the number of homes and business that required generators back then.

People bought generators for their houses in the villages or for businesses that required constant electricity like hotels and hospitals.

There was nothing like solar panel back then, these can be verified by those who were around that time.

Less sophistication but better quality of life and that is a fact.

But why can't we have 360 days electricity in Nigeria. Why can't we? What type of voodoo other nations are using to provide 24hrs electricity that we can't do here.
Other nations pay a cost reflective tarrif or.go into hefty debt to provide cheap electricity or heavy duty income tax, not the Tinubu tax rate , more heavier

The guy you quoted is right, and as someone who grew up in a university town back then, I can confirm most of what he said.

Also generators were not that cheap back then. And when it rained , light went up

I learned how to shout up NEPA in the 1980s.

I know that Tinubu is a bad leader, but let's not pretend that the 1980s and 90s were good re power supply.

Also a big reason why power supply got bad was because governments were connecting millions to the grid without increasing generation. Issue started in the late 1970s and continues today

(1980s and 90s bad times o. Have you forgotten SAP?)

IF AFRICANS WERE THINKING STRAIGHT, THEY WOULD NEVER ACCEPT ANY OUNCE OF CRITICISM FROM ROTTEN COLONIAL FOOTSOLDIERS LIKE KEMI BADENOCH WHEN THE WEST STILL OWES US $5,000 TRILLION FOR THEIR ROBBERY OF THE CONTINENT.

THE AFRICAN UNION IS DEMANDING REPARATIONS FOR THE ''WAR CRIMES'' AGAINST AFRICA, AND FOR ''AFRICA'S HOLOCAUST''.

KEMI BADLUCK, YOUR JOB, IF YOU WEREN'T A MERE TOOL OF YOUR COLONIAL MASTER, IS TO DEMAND REPARATIONS FOR AFRICA EVERY SINGLE DAY YOU WAKE UP THERE.
I don't know about the Uk owing African nations and Nigeria inclusive $50trillion or so but even if it is true and Britain pays Nigeria the money do you think it will be used for infrastructural development in Nigeria?it will still be looted!!Abachas loot that has been repatriated to Nigeria account since buhari presidential era hasn't it been relooted?that's what kemi is all about it isn't as if the Uk can't pay it! with the present crop of Nigerian politicians she has today even if nigeria is paid 100 trillion dollar it will still not reflect in the life of Nigerian masses

covid 19 funds and grants which the USA paid to Nigeria in 2020 and all the aids grants and subsidy which USA has been paying to subsidize ART drugs and so on which one has trickled to PLWAS? most Nigeria banks and wealthy people like Tinubu,Atiku, Dangote gave the government money to give poor people to cushion the effect of hunger and poverty in the lockdown era wey the money now?

Nigeria wasn't the only african country colonized by Britain yet even with our oil we are worse off compared to other British colonized African countries shouldn't that indicate something?

Something is telling that if this woman becomes the UK prime minister.

We'll wake up one day to missiles raining on us.
Not missiles landing on us. More likely that if someone has been a political leader in Nigeria, mental checks and tests would be required before they get UK visa. If any missiles are launched, expect certain people's accounts to be locked.

Lol... Whatever makes you sleep better at night. I'm a Nigerian and will defend Nigeria whenever I can especially from people who have said multiple times they have nothing to do with Nigeria and only remember Nigeria has problems when they need to scurry favors from their slave masters.

Everything is all about politics to your kind, that's the limit of your understanding and I don't hold it against you.
shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked so you are happy Nigeria is still without steady light even after having oil.is there any country with oil in this world without steady light. I once thought everyone want Nigeria to progress until agbero chairman created your type.like wtf are you defending what has politics had to do with Nigeria being better like every other country with oil

Re: Nigeria Has Oil With No Electricity Due To FG's Stupid Policy - Kemi Bednoch by MomohMrMoore: 1:57pm On Jun 14
You are right but Nigeria problem is far more than federal or state government policies. Is 100% CORRUPTION. It is not electricity alone, it affects everything in Nigeria.. nothing is working. Original cause of this problem was Britain, the country you represent. How could they lump together totally different regions of people together? Why? What Britain put together is not working. It never worked.

Please highlight one place where I defended lack of electricity in both of my posts.

Like I said, going back and forth with your type is a waste of time. You lack the ability to comprehend the most basic things. You're not worth the effort.

Madam you're right. But far from stupid policies and stupid incompetent leaders Nigerian politicians are super corrupt.

Religion, ethnicity and tribe are taking Nigeria backward.

The British caused the foundational problems we're facing today.
Countries with 2-3 major languages don't survive, because, we can never be in on accord which will made us never to unite until Nigeria split there won't be progress in this country

I didn't mention Tinubu here why are you digressing? You comments affirm that his government is the worst to date. Insecurity, rascality, even African countries that were villages like Ghana , Ethopia don't respect Nigerians.

Being born and grow in Nigeria is not easy if you’re not from a rich home..

Funny that people are quick to adjust to suffering , while some even see basic amenities of life as luxury..

Nigerian leaders have destroyed the way Nigerians reason..
Eg, if an average Nigerian sees 12 hours uninterrupted power supply, he becomes anxious and afraid of the consequences of having such long hours of supply..

Some of them will think that after this supply, they might not see light again for weeks..

This is how Nigerian politicians have damaged the psyche of an average Nigerian who doesn’t know that to have 24 hours power supply is his right..
