He was on his way to his hometown when the hoodlums captured him. In a video released a week after bandits held Rabe and his wife hostage, they asked the government to release three members of their gang in captivity. Also terrorists holding school children and their teachers in Oyo State were said to have demanded the release of their members before the children would regain their freedom. But in a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, on Saturday, he said, “While the terrorists have done their worst, the President wants them to know that the government will never bow to their demand to release their members. “As I said on June 12, Bandits, kidnappers, and sponsors of terror should now surrender or face the full force of the Nigerian State. These windows of surrender will not remain open forever. And no mercy will be shown to those who trade in the blood of Nigerians. “As Nigerians, we must stand united and be assured that the enemies of our nation shall soon be history. We will triumph over terror and continue to build a more prosperous nation. “General Abubakar’s death should further serve as a defining moment in our battle against terrorists and insurgents, never to negotiate with them on any terms, but to continue to treat them as the greatest enemies of our dear nation, who should never be spared.” The President commiserated with the family of the retired General, especially his wife, who is still being held against her will. He also extended his condolences to the Katsina State government and the armed forces. https://www.facebook.com/100064638796212/posts/pfbid02ZrBwjNFpBZTWJB4CuGhtUr4cnwzoFYGnsqHTrzbk8SyaZqdoeJEk7nPbYBD7RVfAl/

Buhari was paying ransom, but Tinubu refused to pay which is the best decision? Negotiators and military personnel were sharing in the ransom , kidnappers kept growing in numbers |

Biodun556:If those people hold his wife or son, won't he pay? It's because he doesn't care about his citizens. Why can't he sack his security chiefs,if they can't stop this insecurity? How many of the said sponsors of terrorism had he arrested, but yet they could arrest the brafra agitators. They obviously know what they are doing. What happens to ending open grazing, since that's the excuse fulani uses in moving around states? Oyo school children is about to turn to chibok girls story .. Tinubu can't use his power as president, to rescue even kids kidnapped in his backyard. He should be ashamed of himself... |

Biodun556:So refusing ransom is the right decision? Fair enough. But principles are only proven when they become personal. If bandits held the president's wife or children, would the response still be we won't pay a ransom, or would a different rule suddenly apply? That's the question. #Bringthemhome |

Abegi just shot up already, what a failure Am not happy about his death buh the truth most be told, the military never wanted this war against terrorism to end bcoz they benefit more from the proceeds, almost 3trillion on military budget alone, that's crazy mehn, so maybe if they start picking them one after the other just maybe the rest generals will seat up and fight this terrorist wholeheartedly |

How could you have bowed down when you aren't in their captivity? Let them kidnap you first, then make that statement. It's easy to talk when you're standing safely on the mountain. |

Gotocourt:If this is coming from a "leader of tomorrow" then Nigeria is in deep mess. There are over 100,000 rural communities in Nigeria, if you decide to arm their leaders and hunters with guns to fight bandits, do you think you're solving the problem or creating a much bigger one? |

Everything said by the president is trash and insensitive. If it were to be a saner government like US or Israel, they would have launched a manhunt against these rascals and kill on sight. Imagine with all the atrocities and lives they've wasted, you are still opening a window of surrender, surrender to be rehabilitated as usual. If this is the president response to someone that has served his nation and high profile, then what is the plight of civilians that are kidnapped. |

LabStores:You can imagine how their numbers are growing everyday because they are seeing their brothers cash out in millions. It must be very attractive to them so they keep increasing. Government should have ended this over 20 years ago but here we are. |
