I would have suggested the academy where Yohanna was scouted, they've exported a lot of talents to European leagues but it's located in the north and the boy is way too small to travel that far. Do we even have any football academies in Lagos?

Did anybody kidnap the likes of Osimhen, Akor Adams, Chukwueze, Benjamin Frederick Zadok Yohanna and many others? They're are all products of Nigerian football academies and they were scouted to Europe from grassroot academies. Stop projecting negativity on your country people.

He should focus on going to school for now, not chasing football as a career at this early stage.

Employ a home trainer.
Get all the kits and equipment he'll need.

Document everything and keep posting online.
Once your son is of age he can intensify the trainings and keep documenting while following all football academy and clubs on his account.

You never know who's watching ... Na u go dey shakara when dey come knocking.

Even if he goes abroad, and gets into an academy at say Chelsea, or Arsenal or man city, the kid's chances of making it are very very low.

Less than one percent of all academy graduates in the UK alone make it to the big time. Less than one percent.

And before you say na foreigners...i was watching one documentary on youtube from 1974 that followed five promising boys at the Liverpool AFC academy. Back then the English league was 95% white English. Foreign players were either from Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, with very very few from the commonwealth. I watched the documentary to see if I recognised any names there. No , all the boys never played for Liverpool at senior level, only one managed to get professional terms at another club, not a top club.

OP should make sure his son faces his work and gets a degree and use football as a hobby.

Na wa.
Things have changed in Nigeria. Before I recollect parents warning their children that if they catch them playing ball, heaven will fall. Lol. That they don't want to see anything football.

Now here's a father actively trying to support his kid to play ball.

Please where in the north, as some of our relatives who might be interested, are located there.

That was an archaic mentality. Most of those parents on getting acquainted with what football is actually all about with the potential wages, they regret their actions

It seems you don't understand what the insecurity situation is in this country at the moment.
I don't think it's fair to compare today's security situation with what it was years ago. The reality is that insecurity has increased significantly across many parts of the country, so parents naturally have to be more careful.

That said, I don't believe fear should stop anyone from enrolling their child in a football academy. The important thing is to choose a reputable academy with a good track record, proper supervision, secure facilities, and reliable transportation arrangements if needed.
Parents should encourage their children's talents while also taking reasonable security precautions.

If you can afford it, why not send him to England sir? He'd become a professional with greater opportunity
Re: I'm Looking For A Football Academy For My 7-year-old Son. by njokuuche77(m): 5:02pm
If you're in Alimosho, you can check out Midas Football Academy (Command/Ipaja), Future Hero Football Academy (Ipaja), or Heart of Lions Football Academy (Igando/Ikotun). More importantly, visit the academy personally, observe a training session, speak with the coaches, and assess the security and welfare arrangements. At age 7, the environment is just as important as the football training.

This mindset is terrible and has always been outdated. School is school and important but skill is skill and extremely important.
Kids should be encouraged to develop in all while growing. Parents are expected to plan their lives in that manner to fit in their day to day life.
When they get of age they can pick one that most appeals to them.

Study your kids closely and develop them from tender stage.

Don't stick kids head in school alone and expect them to come out fine even if you are a billionaire and can take care of them till their old age.. you go hear am later or better still them go hear am later courtesy of you
