Kushites:Low self esteem nonsense? look at excuses upon excuses. While your politicians are balling. Number one, no body forced Nigeria to have this population. number 2, all the money stollen by your politicians can fix electricity for Nigeria, so what are u saying? Is China not huge? Oya, break up to smaller nation,s una say no. Oya use your population well, una still say no. U make rubbish excuses because the money missing in NNPC alone can provide sufficient electricity for Nigeria and water too. Baba, fix your corruption issue by learning to demand from politicians and not making foolish excuses. Even your politicians go dey laugh u at these excuses. Your politicians are among the people with highest rate of luxurous properties in UAE, London, Egypt, Dubai. Money stollen by one man can fix critical healthcare challenge. So, these are the issues, not all these rubbish u dey talk |

@OP Let me educate you on the reasons Nigeria is the undisputed giant of Africa.. Nigeria, the same Nigeria you know is richly blessed with mineral and natural resources enough to train every Nigerian child in school up till tertiary level and change will remain. The kinds of minerals found in Nigeria can lift the whole of Africa out of poverty, but you see our people are the ones planning and conniving with foreigners to take all those natural resources away because of peanuts that will enter their pockets. Had it been Nigeria had leaders like those of China and Russia, believe you me Nigeria will have veto power at the UN General Assembly and would be a force to reckon with across the globe. You see corruption, tribalism, nepotism, favouritism, quota system, you name it.. all these thing have caused Nigeria's fortune to dwindle. Now merit has no place in leadership roles in Nigeria, it's mostly thugs, criminals, ritualists, etc. with dirty money and unclean wealth that can purchase forms and contest for positions. It's the reason they start stealing and embezzling the commonwealth of Nigerians immediately they enter into office, the cycle goes on and on like that. Ask yourself, how many salary earners, teachers or self-employed people can buy forms in political parties today to contest in elections. The answer is NONE. The reason the whole world is turning away is because the Western worlds gain the most from the rot in Nigerian system. They brought structural adjustment programme (SAP) and ill-advised IBB to devalue our currency, that it's too over-valued and he complied, the IMF and World Bank would come and ask you to devalue and demarket your economy so they can give you loans.. our leaders too will jump on the wagon without thinking. These things have really affected this country in a negative way and is still affecting us till date. Now, Nigeria is the poverty capital of the world.. China that used to be a very poor country has risen and is now enslaving African countries while our clueless leaders run to same China for China-Africa summit. It's really shameful.. Mind you China has no mineral resources, it's Nigera's oil and gas they are focusing on now, how to take over the oil sector while our clueless leaders look on. |

Princedapace:Nobody forced you to stay in Nigeria, If you hate the country, get out and go and live somewhere else. number 2, all the money stollen by your politicians can fix electricity for Nigeria, so what are u saying?USE YOUR BRAIN. The problem with electricity in Nigeria is not about ''money to fix it''. It's far more complex than that. Is China not huge?USE YOUR BRAIN. Was China ALWAYS developed? Do you know China has been existing for over a thousand years as an independent nation, but only got developed in the last 30 years? What do you know about China? Do you know how many millions of Chinese were slaughtered and jailed by the dictatorship there to force the changes that took place there? ARE YOU READY to sacrifice your personal freedoms and civil liberties to ''be like China''? WHEN CHINA BEGAN TO DEVELOP, DO YOU THINK THEY TOLERATED PEOPLE LIKE YOU who insult the govt? Have you heard of Chairman Mao and his Cultural Revolution? People like you were killed and jailed for any criticism of the govt. MILLIONS OF PEOPLE. Why? Because the Chinese govt banned virtually every import including cars, and everyone except the topmost elite was riding BICYCLES in China, right up till the 1980S AND EVEN 90s, because the govt wanted to force indigenous industries to emerge. Millions starved due to lack of imports. ARE YOU READY TO GO THROUGH THAT SACRIFICE FOR NIGERIA TO ''BE LIKE CHINA''? Ordinary fuel subsidy removal, you're already screaming like a hyena. When similar measures happened in China, people like you who insulted the govt publicly were rounded up and SHOT. ARE YOU READY TO TOLERATE A BRUTAL ONE-PARTY DICTATORSHIP WITH NO FREEDOM OF SPEECH, OR OF ASSEMBLY AND NO ELECTIONS OR VOTING? MR CHINA. You only see the BRIGHT LIGHTS of China today, but you don't know HOW they got to where they are. Even TODAY according to a source: ''An exact total number of Chinese dissidents in jail is unknown because Beijing classifies this data as a state secret. However, international monitoring groups estimate that thousands of political and religious prisoners of conscience are currently incarcerated, with figures including tens of thousands in Hong Kong and potentially hundreds of thousands of religious practitioners.'' https://monitor.civicus.org/explore/china-regime-continues-to-jail-activists-and-target-critical-artists-film-makers-and-musicians/ Oya, break up to smaller nation,s una say no. Oya use your population well, una still say no.Who is ''una''? NIGERIA OWES YOU NOTHING. Corruption and mismanagement itself are predictable characteristics of newly independent countries which lack solid institutions. Unlike you loud mouth, some of us have actually STUDIED this phenomenon. It's not unique to Nigeria. You can shout yourself hoarse and feel as inferior as you like, it doesn't change the fact that only TIME and continued strengthening of national institutions like the judiciary, civil service, etc via for instance institutions like the EFCC and other bodies, will EVENTUALLY lead to a system of absolute accountability and integrity in Nigeria. |

flokii:See the ignorant nonsense this one just typed. AI Report: China is one of the most mineral-rich nations globally, officially possessing the world's largest reserves of 14 key minerals and the highest production volume for 17 minerals. Its resources are categorized into three main types: energy minerals, ferrous/non-ferrous metals, and non-metal minerals. China's mineral resources include the following key categories and specific minerals: 1. Energy Minerals Coal: The country's most abundant natural resource. China is the top global producer, primarily located in the northern regions like Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, and Shaanxi. Oil and Gas: Significant reserves of crude oil (e.g., Daqing Oilfield) and natural gas/shale gas, concentrated primarily in central and western China. Uranium: Essential for nuclear energy development. 2. Critical & Non-Ferrous Metals Rare Earths: China holds the world's largest reserves and dominates the global production and refining process. Electronics/High-Tech Metals: China has the largest global reserves of tungsten, tin, molybdenum, antimony, gallium, germanium, and indium. Strategic Battery Metals: Substantial reserves and dominant refining capabilities in lithium, cobalt, and nickel. Base & Precious Metals: Major deposits and active mining of copper, aluminum (bauxite), lead, zinc, and gold. 3. Ferrous & Non-Metal MineralsFerrous Minerals: China ranks among the top countries globally in reserves of iron, manganese, and titanium. Non-Metallic Minerals: Dominates global reserves and output of fluorite and graphite, and holds large reserves of phosphorus and potash. - AI |

Princedapace:You are very right. most Africa countries are better organized than Nigeria. imagine Nigeria can't boast of pipe borne water flowing through tap. we are still shouting up nepa in 2026. there is no sector Nigeria got it right, of you are to compare among countries. we are still celebrating locomotive train. if you haven't visit island, you will think, it will look like some areas in Dubai. pure overated place with no proper planning. in my conclusion, Nigeria is retrogression. the military era was even better than this so called democracy. honestly you can't visit any part of Nigeria and you will be amazed, except you haven't travel out before. |

THERE'S FAR MORE TO NIGERIA THAN YOUR VILLAGE 'LOCOMOTIVE' While you hate on your country, this KENYAN GUY has come and showcased your WORLD CLASS rail system to the world, and he has earned THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS from this video alone, while you sit in the same Nigeria talking about imaginary ''LOCOMOTIVES'' in your head. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DU5tc867vs4&t=4s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWrU9QMaSII |

Princedapace:Don't bother yourself with that guy. how can a normal person be saying that Nigeria is ok. let him visit south Africa and see how a country is. Abuja can't be compared to Pretoria, Johannesburg and cape town. look at 2010 world cup hosted by south Africa. bullet train was everywhere, very clean places. you go to VI, Ikoyi and Lekki axis in lagos which are suppose to be highbrow places and yet, nothing amaze you. I watch when my former deputy governor under oshiomohle escorted the current governor to the rehabilitated popular oba market in benin and he said it now look like malls in Dubai. you could see big lies from him. |

Nigeria as a giant of Africa is just a scam. In 2026, stable electricity is harder than rocket science. When last did Nigeria host any major African tournament 😂 Even in the acclaimed capital you'll see cows moving and pooping on the highways😂 There is nothing special about Nigeria, nothing at all. Just a country filled with loud mouths who will never agree that they live in a dump. The standards of lekki and other highbrow areas in Nigeria are what you'll see in an average city around Africa. Tourism is zero because no foreigner would be insane enough to come and get kidnapped 😂 Very soon bandits will start going to embassies and kidnap expatriates. Under Tinubu we have fallen to the level of Somalia and North Sudan |

Kushites:All you wrote means nothing becasue it didnt answer the questions? Is there anything sector wise that works in Nigeria? So, this is the hand to have hope for Nigeria? This one that EFCC will leave someone because the person is a friend to the ruling party or a friend to the person ruling Nigeria? So, this one that judiciary is inside the pocket of some people, that is how to fix Nigeria? This one that oya, do electronic transmission of result to reduce mal practise and build confidence among young generation, they said no and bring up foolish excuses.. U dont have network in some places and u cant buy starlink for those places? But u can budget billions for governors and presidents, senators, etc? I keep asking my self, why is it that a country that wants to develop will spend more on politicians than spending on building sectors? Una never ready, just know that Nigeria is a complete failed state. |

The Op lamented why Nigeria is not using its resource wealth to develop the numerous sectors he mentioned. Where is this massive resource wealth? From producing only 1.5 million barrels of oil per day? Nigeria should have 24hr electricity, pipe borne water for over 200 million people, world class research institutions and sports facilities, excellent roads all over the country, world class medical centres for 200 million people etc Op is unrealistic. He's one of millions of Nigerians who erroneously go around believing Nigeria is a rich country. For context, Nigeria's effective budget is no more than $30 billion per annum. South Africa's bugdet is more than $130 billion for a population that's less than half of Nigeria. And in those countries citizens and enterprises pay tax. In Nigeria, the overwhelming majority don't pay any tax, and are up in arms at the mere mention of it. Yet they wonder why the country can't build the infrastructure they see in some countries. Delusion. |

If this is your village, the slum will be unreal rural This is a normal village in my state, and the black people own the entire thing including the land. IronGalaxy:No, we can talk about how majority of the black South Africans only get to see those beautiful structures but still in poverty South Africa is number one in income inequality The South Africa blacks are some of the poorest people in the world and they majorly live in the ghettos and poor neighborhoods Those beautiful structures aren’t meant for black South Africans but whites
|
| Re: We Call Ourselves The Giant Of Africa, But Giant In What Exactly? by IronGalaxy: 2:52pm On Jun 14 |
Omoawoke:hahaha. .. what else can I expect from you? Black South Africans enjoy some of the best living standards in Africa, better than many countries in Africa including Nigeria. The biggest black middle class in Africa is black South African, the notion that most live in shacks is a lie . The highest number of USD black millionaires in Africa is black South African We also enjoy among others... Better literacy levels than Nigeria.. Better access to education, healthcare, water/sanitation, social welfare/ electricity, etc... Yes, theres in income inequality in South Africa, there's also income inequality in the whole African continent, but an average South African enjoys a higher average income than many countries in Africa including Nigeria.. so the notion that we are "the poorest" makes no sense.. you cant have one of Africa's highest average incomes and be the poorest in the world Black South Africans can be found everywhere, from this poorest of shacks to the wealthiest of estates... An average black South African is wealthier than a Nigerian (higher GDP per capita, higher incomes). |
| Re: We Call Ourselves The Giant Of Africa, But Giant In What Exactly? by IronGalaxy: 2:58pm On Jun 14*. Modified: 3:18pm On Jun 14 |

Omoawoke:Biggest Black middle-class in Africa but "poorest in the world"?
|
| Re: We Call Ourselves The Giant Of Africa, But Giant In What Exactly? by Omoawoke(m): 4:43pm On Jun 14 |
IronGalaxy:Now I can boldly say that a black South African have sub lQ, GDP per capita is not a measure of equality. GDP per capita simply takes a country’s total economic output and divides it by the population: The problem is that it tells you nothing about who gets the money. But the data largely shows that the country has the highest inequality and that’s why you people are xenophobic… the result of high inequality is frustration and anger towards other’s prosperity Middle class tells nothing, it’s all on paper… you keep lying to yourself on paper while being hit with high poverty, and crime rate Inequality is a serious misery, you watch the beautiful cities and people living well while majority are poor… See below hard facts you cannot dismiss and please you aren’t talking to illiterates here, stop picking half baked data that only favors your argument
|
| Re: We Call Ourselves The Giant Of Africa, But Giant In What Exactly? by IronGalaxy: 5:07pm On Jun 14*. Modified: 5:37pm On Jun 14 |
Omoawoke:Did i say GDP per capita was a measure of equally? Learn to read for comprehension. Insults are not gonna cut it Lemme tone in down so your envious self can catch up.. An average South African earns higher incomes, which ultimately means the GDP per capita of South Africans is higher.. iGDP per capita basically means purchasing power..we have more bang for our buck..if you earn higher, you purchase more.. common sense.. You say the existence of the biggest middle class dont tell you who has the money but gdp per capita figures do, yet you're still in denial..lolol Dont tell me how they reach GDP per capita figures, im well adept of that.. thats not the topic of argument here.. You keep going on and on about inequality, yes it exists in SA, it is exist in Nigeria and its a problem for much of the continent and yet through all that inequality, an average South African is still better off than an average Nigerian..virtually in all metrics Oh so a growing middle-class tells us nothing about the economy? Is it? My guy did you go to school? A growing middle class is one the signs that economy is becoming sustainable and is creating disposable incomes and a broadening tax base.. a growing middle-class a sign of prosperity.. consider this.. you got your independence in the 60s, and we got our democracy in 94.. yet we've come the biggest black middle class in just a short space of time, despite many African countries getting their independence earlier, despite you people calling us "lazy" Stop complaining that things are on paper, how else are stats proven? you want us to rely on your envy-induced insults as facts? Facts are facts, calling them "half-baked" won't change that.. Nobody has once denied that there's 1. High inequality is South Africa 2. That there a lot of poor black South Africans 3. High unemployment exists The fact of the matter is, black South africans are still better off than most African countries including Nigeria in most metrics and this is one fact we can't run away from! you have far worse poverty levels than black South Africans, proven by variafable data... If you dispute this..show me metrics on which you Nigerians trump black South Africans on let alone South Africa..I'll wait |
