On this, I disagree with Adams Oshiomhole. The Bakassi Boys operated during the administration of Governor Chinwoke Mbadinuju and were eventually dismantled under President Olusegun Obasanjo after Mbadinuju travelled to Abuja.

Obasanjo deployed the Nigerian Army to round them up and shut down their operations. Chris Ngige did not meet the Bakassi Boys in operation, let alone Peter Obi.

I agree partly with Oshiomhole about this.
I myself cannot see what governance issues Mr. Obi and/or Mr. Atiku for instance are confronting with thought through, planned solutions, as leaders in waiting.

Granted campaigns have not officially commenced but opinions out there for public consumption and assessment are never banned in a democracy.

Think-tank and townhall. Hear out the people, hear out experts, visit NGO's and Advocacy group and tap the expertise their collective expertise. You are bound to hit nuggets of wisdom.

The advantage the opposition has is that the present leadership is not listening to the people, is not responding to them. It is doing it's own thing the way it wants, so there is a huge forest of political capital that can be harvested to get the people onside.

Just don't understand this tired cliche of, 'oh, when I get there I will....' Our politicians should work harder, be more cerebral and definitely be more assertive of their alternate views about governance.

This country badly, badly needs viable opposition.
