..if the parents buys a phone for his 15 year old child and the child uses it for browsing and social media stuffs..how will the UK government know that it's a 15 year old child operating on that smartphone , using the smartphone to browse

Nice but implementation would be a total bulwark. China does it way more better.

My kids would be tooo busy milking cows and feeding birds than playing Dota or doomscrooling tiktok.

How is it bad, kindly explain as I work with kids from high school and below in the use of technology for education. What we have noticed is that kids always want the easy way out. Because the tech solution has the accessibility option. Kids do not want to write; instead they want to dictate their coursework and exams.

These kids do not know how to write a proper sentence. They cannot put a full stop or a comma in a statement. Some have not learned how to handwrite.

They even struggle to hold any meaningful conversation with their teachers, parents and peers.

Because of the proliferation of Google and AI, most now run their assignments through AI.

There is a general decline in critical thinking, and this is impacting their mental memory as they are not exercising their mental muscle.

People are generally getting stupid, and their Parents are also fed up.

The consensus is that the use of the internet and access to social media will be banned. Currently, we are studying the gains and challenges Australia is making in the banning of social media for under-16s.

This will help in shaping the appropriate legislation for internet service providers and social media platforms.

yea, u need same thing here in Nigeria bcus its done by UK, assuming its Nigeria president that did it first, im very sure by then it wont be a good thing for u again, u will blame the President that all the security issues and economic issues going on in Nigeria. Na under age he his banning on social media, infact u would have been calling on international bodies, that ur president is not respecting human right

That's a good start, but they need to ban or control pornography too. Part of the reason kids are messed up is that they're accessing that material.

You're missing the point...

What they mean is that for you to register on any social media site you will be required to provide your date of birth, if you are less than 16 years the site or app will not register you
