How about the government place huge tariffs on China imported safety foot gears once they're confident this company can meet the demand? I'm not sure China would do anything differently if they're in that shoe.
The problem is our government does not
Send us while China loves it's people. China is aware of how the west has treated them in the past and understand the only defence a national has is it's people.

I'm not saying shoe factors,, competitive rice that match foreign standards, productions of different sort of things in large scale ,not just shoe
Yes, and it would be the same issue. If you want companies that make things at foreign standards, expect foreign standard price.

Also, you got to hire the best workers, not man know man. And knowing Nigerian politicans, dem go fill the factory with their guys who may not be the best.

Nice one, I pray it benefits the economy and common individuals
Wait for the handouts from your government. Keep praying for the masses and the economy and keep complaining about common individuals. It's an achievement too.

China go still dey dominant
Yes because of folks like you that have this boring mentality of "China go still dey dominant"

If we have a 1000 Yinkas in a population of 200 Milli producing with Government incentives and a sizeable number consuming it, China's or any other country's foothold on the market will be negligible!

So Shoosh with that self-defeatist mentality abeg this Monday morning!

Company can produce 5000 boots a day for now. I doubt that would be able to meet local demand right now.

Government have no business doing business, but we are at the stage where promising manufacturing companies need interventions for them to grow and stabilize. China must not be allowed to ruin our manufacturing industry. Most of their products are even substandard compared to locally made. For instance, almost all electricians you'll meet would prefer to use Nigerian cable to Chinese one.

And Yinkodeen?

Blessings on you. This is how a manufacturing economy is built. From ground up. everyone eyes dey up, our eyes no just dey down to see most of the things for life. Even the government always look for big things to do. Forgetting that the small things build the big things. If we can start with manufacturing the small things first, doing the big ones would be easier for us.

This is my thoughts on the matter.

Don't mind them.

Greedy, thoughtless people. For them it's all about building a mansion in the village to say "I've arrived".

It is going to be cheaper Better than Temu or Shien? If not, forget it! China has taken over footwear market and every market already.

u have a negative mindset
It's not a negative statement. Can he trump the super established shoe companies importing?

I check one of the shoes, it cost ₦60,000 but China can produce a similar quality with half the price.

Can you compete with them? That's the ₦10,000 naira question.

So where are the funds for 1000 Yinkas to start-up something like this?

Doesn't those same 1000 Yinkas need government intervention and encouragement by providing 90% funds?

Do you want these 1000 Yinkas to get funds from crime to foot their start-up?

Didn't the Chinese government give youths willing to learn footwear the funds and encouragement?

Think am from this angle.

China will give better quality and even cheaper, it would also be cheaper to import from China than to manufacture it in nigeria.. China has taken over every manufacturing and every market in the world.

Go back and read what I wrote and read it slowly without that "mindset"! I acknowledged and listed these same ingredients too but totally discountenancing the fact this can be replicated because there is a Chinese foothold is self-defeatist abeg!

Leave mindset abeg. When the government doesn't do the right thing, we can't have the 1000 Yinkas to open footwear business to super rival the Chinese.

If we do that, give the 1000 Yinkas just three years we'll make the Xi's sweat profusely.

They have upstream oil companies among their clientele

They need them because their shoes cost

I called them to enquire for the price of a pair of work trainers - 90k
