It is interesting that when we hear bandits strike most of you guys who always second guess or outrightly deny a rescue mission always never deny that bandits struck but instead spread the news with insults on government and praises to the bandits wrapped with fake love for the masses.....it such a shame but God will continue to spoil the plan of bandits and kidnappers in Nigeria and also turn the joy of their online supporters to bitterness by the power in His name. Amen!

There was a country, and our brainwashed who think America is here to help us, how are you brainwashed? Are we having progress or the insecurity is moving to the South now? Where is Amupitan who wrote brief?

Poor woman.
So sorry for what she has gone through.
Nigeria owes this woman lots of love and care.
She should not suffer anything for the rest of her life.

Honestly we can do better as a nation.
This just cannot continue.
As long as it is an hausa or fulani moslem this is happening to i have no single pity or sympathy for her. When GEJ was trying to bring sanity to the north by fighting these terrorist and building schools to educate their children they were all busy supporting Buhari, shey this happend in Buhari's own state, Katsina. Where is Buhari today to help them? The sad point is that they have still not learnt their lessons. Tomorrow one yeye northern politician will still play them the religious and tribal card and they will fall for it. Supporting a candidate because he is a northerner or because he is a moslem, not minding if he is competent or not. Let them suffer. It is only those from other parts of the country that are victms of terrorism that i can sympathize with. Las las we all go get sense.

Rescued from who?

How many terrorists did they neutralize in this "cash-for-victim" operation? Was it not the same terrorists that brought the corpse of the general to the government officials and left fully armed and unharmed?

Well....na Northern family matter sha.

Despite the offensive, she was the only victim rescued by the military. It's well!

Rescued 😂😂😂😂 after the bandits released his body yesterday.

The sad thing is the military is shielding the truth against one of theirs 😭

Very unfortunate. She went into captivity with her husband and came out alone. The experience won't surely leave her memory till her dying day.

Sadly on this site, responses to capture of bandits can be divided into two.

Government supporters would be rejoicing, and saying that it shows tinubu is working, meanwhile, indications show that the problem is getting worse rather than better. And any attempt to point it out is met with anger. Lol. The party in power is not doing anything about the causes of kidnapping, or even the issues that led to banditry growing in power. And any attempt to point it out is met with people shouting that tinubu has had only two years, and he needs more time. (That isn't sounding good, is it?). Also, there is the attempt to blame the North or the oppostion for the problem, which has the added effect of making the government of our president look weak and incompetent. (not a good look)

As for the oppostion, many of them have shown a readiness to believe in bandits, and to be sad when government soldiers rescue victims of kidnapping, with some saying it is a lie, apparently. It is the readiness to believe in bandits, people who are actually victimising people, and to assume that the bandits let the kidnapped go, rather than the army rescue them, because admitting the army rescued the kidnapped people is anathema to them as they do not want tinubu to 'look good' (remember that tinubu is looking bad already)...that somehow I find disgusting.

Seirously you guys this is not a game.

Both sides are equally awful.

I mean, one can presumably be happy when kidnap victims are rescued, and congratulate the armed forces for a job well done, while admitting that the problem is getting worse, and little is being done by the government to adress the root causes. I mean saying well done to the army for freeing a kidnap victim is not the same as saying that TInubu is the best thing since sliced watermelon.

People should stop using insecurity in this country as propaganda to promote or castigate the government. I did not say you must praise the government at all times.

Anyway, kudos to the armed forces and police, but the government needs to sit the hell up. Kidnapping has only gotten worse since 2015. If they want to get back in power, they need to sit up, or we bring in someone new.
APC sowed this seed between 2013 - 2015

The chicken has come home to roost.

The coming days will be heavy with sweeping information to the doorstep of POTUS and UK prime minister. They better sit up and govern to reduce hardship and insecurity else there's a unnatural storm before the election storm

They created this monster that's going to feed on many opposition or ruling class supporters

They couldn't rescue the husband when he was alive. How come they rescue the wife suddenly after his death. Our security agencies and government in power has failed us

Rescued my foot!!!
Which of the bandits was arrested or shot? None!! But a whole rescue mission was done without no casualty from the enemy's camp.

You guys should stop fooling yourself. Ransom has been paid!!!
Re: Rabe: Widow Of Late Military Spokesperson Rescued, Receiving Treatment (Pix) by Atlantis585: 1:55am On Jun 16
Released or rescued? It seems like they just released her after collecting ransome.

By the way what kind of military do we really have? Always lying. You rescued her and no terrorists were quenched and no other person among the many were rescued?

Smh

If God increased the joy of JagaBandiot of Borgu for his support to bandits, kidnappers and terrorists, then why would He turn the joy of your imaginary online supporters into bitterness?

EkoIle1:
It is now abundantly clear that President Jonathan has finally bared his fangs confirming what was widely speculated. By declaring a state of emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa, he has intimidated and emasculated the governors of these States. We are witnessing a dangerous trend in the art of governance and a deliberate ploy to subvert constitutional democracy.

The body language of the Jonathan administration leads any keen watcher of events with unmistakable conclusion of the existence of a surreptitious but barely disguised intention to muzzle the elected governments of these states for what is clearly a display of unpardonable mediocrity and diabolic partisanship geared towards 2015.

Borno and Yobe states have been literally under armies of occupation with the attendant excruciating hardship experienced daily by the indigenes and residents of these areas. This government now wants to use the excuse of the security challenges faced by the Governors to remove them from the states considered hostile to the 2015 PDP/Jonathan project.

Let me be quick to say that this administration will be setting in motion a chain of events the end of which nobody can predict. Experience has shown clearly that actions, such as this one under consideration, often give root to radical ideologies and extremist tendencies, a direct opposite of the intended outcome of unwarranted and unintelligent meddlesomeness. The present scenario playing out in the country reminds one of the classical case of a mediocre craftsman who continually blames the tools of his trade for his serial failure but refuses to look at his pitiable state with a view to adjusting.

It has become crystal clear, even to the most incurable optimist, that the country is adrift. That the ship of the Nigerian state is rudderless is clearly evident in the consistent and continual attacks ferociously executed by elements often referred to as the insurgents in some northern states of the federation, particularly Borno and Yobe states respectively.

Indeed, no part of the country is immune from the virulent but easy attacks, veritable indices of a failing state. Unfortunately, the tenuous and uncoordinated approach adopted by this government betrays a grossly incompetent disposition which stands at variance with current realities in the country, nay the international community where acts of terrorism are engaged and contained. No Governor of a state in Nigeria is the Chief Security Officer. Putting the blame on the Governors, who have been effectively emasculated, for the abysmal performance of the government at the centre which controls all these security agencies, smacks of ignorance and mischief.

How will a coup help us instead of civil disobedience to chase out the balablu, bulaba clueless noisemaker in Aso Rock huh

How is coup-prone Pakistan better than forever democratic India?

Why are your own relatives and friends in the military not taking the risk of dying by execution, to do your coup? Are they also weak huh

I trust our military. They have the capacity. All they need is sincerity of purpose from their commanders.

But I expected to hear that some bandit were killed during the rescue operations, so it wouldn't look as if the bandit just delivered the woman to the military the way they delivered her late husband.

Thank God for the rescue operations.
Thank God for the woman's life.
Rescue operations without the shedding of blood.

Honestly I am with opposition that sees the army and Government colluding to allow this insecurity last this long .
The Military can end this in weeks but the government is incubating this terrorists on account of them being our brothers .

That's why I don't believe the story. If it was a rescue, what about others that we saw them together in the bush? Why were they not rescued also? Why only her? I believe the bandits dropped her at one junction for them to pick her up.
