You sure she was mentally okay? I know Africans believe chaining a mentally ill person is a temporary solution. If the symptoms don’t go, at least the person will remain hidden to avoid disgracing his/her lineage.
Can you imagine this mindset. Is that an excuse for chaining her up like a dog? Even dogs get treated better.

Find where to direct your anger. I never supported it. I’m sharing what I know.

I’m sure he takes good care of his own wife and kids.
The hearts of man.

when I see people like this and news of such nature, I take a look at myself and try to do a MENTAL CHECK of all the things I have done and find out that I have never done any bad thing in my life.

The worst set of humans you will ever meet are those INCONSIDERATE set of people.

Assuming If you were locked 🔒 up like her for that long, wouldn't it affect you psychologically?

That's to say if she's mentally unstable.
The narrative by the police doesn't make any sense.
Many people today can not afford basic healthcare let alone the enormous cost of treating a relative with mental illness. After exhausting their savings on hospitals, traditional healers and churches without any solution,
families are left with no options and resort to locking up their loved ones up in chains.

Rather than addressing this harsh reality, the Police Commissioner appears more interested in sensationalizing the issue to win public applause.

If you can tell me your location, I can come over there and declare that you are not mentally okay and before you can even say anything you will see people I have bribed and influenced (MIB) bundling you into a car and chain you. The more you say you are not mad, the more MAD you will look. Before you know you have spent 4 years in a dog cage eating dog food and sleeping with them till you gradually become a FERAL being. Imagine all this happening to you? I know you will say IMPOSSIBLE but just drop your location and see.

It is sweet to say the things you said Because it is not you.

Let's say you are in this situation and you have drained all your finances treating a family member of mental illness.

Will you ever resort to this measure?

No plenty words, just answer Yes or No.
Re: Police Rescue Woman Chained By Her Brother In Abuja For 16 Months by yemre: 11:44am On Jun 16
The brothers should be paid in his own coin as he did to his own sister. He should be chained and kept in one dark room where would feed and defecate for a period of 3 years. After that, he should be sentenced to serve a jail term not less 10 years.

If he ever comes back to this life, he would learn to treat people like humans.

If he could do this to his own blood sister, only God knows what he's been doing to strangers.

That guy should be thoroughly investigated.

In every nonsense there is an iota of sense.

You have a point but in this environment most insane people are abandoned not held in captivity.

It's easy to judge when you've not been there.

Do you know how many times that woman would have be sexually abused if she was not locked up?
Do you know how violent she was?

In a working society, situations like this are handled professionally by government agencies. those institutions are absent here, leaving people with no choice than to resort to self-help.

Expecting a Yes or No answer from me simplifies the issue. My decision will depend on many variables, especially my financial strength, how violence she is, her vulnerability to abuse, the extent I've gone with her treatment....e.t.c

I am doing something useful here telling you we in Africa find it wrong to chain a member of your family for 16 years even if its okay in America where you come from.

Get it?
