Hidden truth? That's the way things should work. Stereotyping is never a good thing. Clarapaul: |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by uchennay: 9:05am On Jun 13 |
lanresz:A visa is a privilege, not a right. No country is obligated to issue a visa to a foreign national. Calling every strict assessment or refusal "stereotyping" ignores the fact that immigration authorities have a responsibility to protect the integrity of their immigration system and manage potential risks. |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by uchennay: 9:06am On Jun 13 |
lanresz:The unfortunate reality is that the actions of many Nigerians over the years have contributed to increased scrutiny of applications from Nigeria. While this may be frustrating for genuine applicants, visa officers are expected to assess risk based on patterns, trends, and available evidence, while still evaluating each application on its own merits. |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by lanresz(m): 4:38pm On Jun 13 |
I partly agree with you. I understand your point very well. A visa is not a right. My point is that after doing strict assessment, it is not right for the basis of refusals to be what other Nigerians have done in the past. There are cases where the immigration judges have found some IRCC decisions unreasonable. uchennay: |

| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by relocationhub(m): 10:36am On Jun 14 |
rebirthkennedy:There are legitimate employer-sponsored pathways in Europe and other countries, but I would advise you to be cautious about anyone promising to relocate you first and recover all costs from your future salary. Many scams operate using that exact model. Since my focus is Canada, my recommendation is to first determine whether you already qualify for any Canadian immigration pathway before paying agents or consultants large sums of money. A free Canada Relocation Audit can help you understand: • Your current eligibility for Canadian immigration programs • Your estimated Express Entry competitiveness • Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) opportunities that may fit your profile • Potential work permit and employer-sponsored pathways • Areas of weakness that may affect future applications • Practical steps to improve your profile before applying Many people spend money on agents without first understanding their actual immigration position. In reality, the first step should be assessing your profile and identifying the strongest pathway available to you. You can also use Relocation Hub to: • Run a free Canada-focused relocation assessment • Evaluate your immigration readiness and risk factors • Build a personalized relocation roadmap • Discover suitable Canadian pathways based on your profile • Access job opportunities and employer resources relevant to relocation planning Sometimes the issue is not finding an agent. The real challenge is understanding which pathway gives you the highest probability of success. If you share your: • Age • Highest educational qualification • Occupation/Job Title • Years of work experience • Continuous experience in last 3 years (months) / Total related experience (years) • IELTS/CELPIP score (if available) • Marital status (if moving alone or with Family/dependent) • Available Settlement funds you can get a clearer picture of where you currently stand and whether Canada is a realistic option for you today. |

This bill affects Canadian International students with study visa, immigrants with visa that stay long beyond the day limit and land border crossing immigrants from USA to Canada. Pre-Removal Risk Assessment (PRRA) is only apply to these two rules. Bill C-12 has become law in Canada, introducing two new rules that immediately affect refugee claims made on or after June 3, 2025. You are affected by Bill C-12 if you meet either of the following criteria: -Timing of Claim after Entry: You entered Canada on or after June 25, 2020, and you waited more than one year after your first entry to make your refugee claim. -Entry Through the US: You crossed into Canada irregularly (between official border crossings) and waited more than 14 days to make your refugee claim. Who is not affected? -Anyone who made a refugee claim before June 3, 2025. -Anyone who entered Canada before June 25, 2020 (unless they fall under the 14-day irregular U.S. entry rule). amnotapervert: |

I applied for a Canadian Visitor Visa through the IRCC portal. Unfortunately, I realized after submitting my application that I was unable to upload some additional supporting documents that I would like to provide for consideration. Could you please advise me on the appropriate procedure for submitting these additional documents and having them attached to my application. |
