For a regular business or visitor visa, you generally do not need a medical examination. A medical exam is usually required for applications such as permanent residence, study permits, work permits, or a Super Visa.

While this may be frustrating for genuine applicants, visa officers are expected to assess risk based on patterns, trends, and available evidence, while still evaluating each application on its own merits.

I partly agree with you. I understand your point very well. A visa is not a right. My point is that after doing strict assessment, it is not right for the basis of refusals to be what other Nigerians have done in the past. There are cases where the immigration judges have found some IRCC decisions unreasonable.

Life has been hard on me and no one to run to,I have no helper.if you can give me Intel on how to relocate to any county be it Europe or Asia .Or if there is any other means I can contact you.i have seen people traveling out but my own story is different. Firstly, what reason did you previously state for being non-accompanying when she applied for PR? Secondly, how do you intend to prove proof of funds if she is not working full-time, especially since her income can hardly take care of her and the child Also, you know that in a spousal application, she has to sign an undertaking to support you so proof of financial stability is very important.

I used work related excuse, though i am self employed. As per the proof of funds, i have some savings, can i push it into her account as an evidence showing proof of funds is not the problem? She is presently doing minimum wage job plus our Canadian child benefit allowance

This bill affects Canadian International students with study visa, immigrants with visa that stay long beyond the day limit and land border crossing immigrants from USA to Canada.

Pre-Removal Risk Assessment (PRRA) is only apply to these two rules.

Bill C-12 has become law in Canada, introducing two new rules that immediately affect refugee claims made on or after June 3, 2025.

​You are affected by Bill C-12 if you meet either of the following criteria:
​
-Timing of Claim after Entry: You entered Canada on or after June 25, 2020, and you waited more than one year after your first entry to make your refugee claim.

-​Entry Through the US: You crossed into Canada irregularly (between official border crossings) and waited more than 14 days to make your refugee claim.
​
Who is not affected?
​-Anyone who made a refugee claim before June 3, 2025.

​-Anyone who entered Canada before June 25, 2020 (unless they fall under the 14-day irregular U.S. entry rule).

The bill passed yesterday, so anyone who thinks they can use a visitor visa to come to Canada and claim asylum like before should know that it is now more difficult than it used to be.

What has mainly changed is that most people may only get a Pre-Removal Risk Assessment (PRRA) instead of a full hearing.

Let me explain this is something your Telegram, Facebook, and WhatsApp groups will never tell you.

Normally, if someone claims asylum in Canada, their case goes to the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada:

(1) They get a full hearing
(2) They can tell their story in person
(3) They can bring a lawyer, evidence, and witnesses
(4) An independent decision maker decides their case

Now, under Bill C-12 (in some situations), some people won’t get that full hearing anymore.

Instead, they may only get a Pre-Removal Risk Assessment (PRRA).

A PRRA is a paper-based risk assessment done by an immigration officer at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. They basically ask:

If we send this person back to their country, will they face danger?

A PRRA is much weaker than a full hearing:
Things your telegram and Facebook group will not tell you

(A) It’s harder to prove your case
(B) There is no opportunity to explain things verbally
(C) Decisions rely heavily on paperwork
(D) You may need a very strong (and often expensive) lawyer to prepare your documents
(E) There is a higher risk of refusal

PRRA is usually used as a last check before deportation, not as a full refugee process.

So this change means that Most people will go from having a full legal hearing to only getting a final risk assessment before being sent home.

Can you request for your GCMS notes. It will take up to a month for you to receive it, but it will show the stage the application is.
