This is democracy, you guys have a lot to learn from Rivers State politics, in our state, we all follow Wike, the Rainbow coalition is what is obtainable. All the juicy political office aspirants are all Ikwerre"s whether in PDP, APC, LP, A0GA, etc. There is no more dichotomy in Rivers State. Competence is what we look out for. Incidentally, you can only find the competent leaders in Ikwerre.
So we're okay with that so long as our leader wike say so.
So in Nigeria, there is nothing like North-South zoning principle anymore. A northerner can contest the presidential poll and win.

The North has EVERY RIGHT to vie for presidency. Zoning is NOT in the constitution and NO ONE should be forced to obey a gentleman’s agreement of zoning.

If elections were free and fair in Nigeria, who will be taking about zoning? The best candidate simply wins.

Same right that made Dim Chukwuemeka Ojukwu contest the 2007 election under APGA after 8 years of Obasanjo's presidency. Just like the Southeast, Atiku’s Northeast region has never produced the presidency. It is very convenient at times to lump the North as one region, but when it comes to the South, we now attempt to further divide it into SW, SE, and SS. Zoning is strictly a party affair until it becomes constitutional.

No one "gave" anyone any votes. The people voted according to their conviction and rejected Tinubu. Atiku also won Jonathan's Bayelsa and Akpabio's Akwa Ibom state. Why couldn't Lagosians give Tinubu their votes? Why did he lose Lagos to Obi or was it Sanwo-olu that "gave" the votes to Obi? Why is the Southwest still contesting after 8 years of Obasanjo as president, 8 years of Osinbajo as Vice and 4 years of Tinubu as president? If it's the turn of the South, then it's the turn of the Southeast.
