The Next Lagos Governor Should Demolish The Following Places by Airlord2030(op): 2:29pm On Jun 18
Alaba should be demolished
Trade fair should be demolished
Computer village should be demolished
Mandillas should be demolished
Ladipo should be demolished. Etc

We need more housing units to accommodate our population in Lagos . The lands of this places can comfortably accommodate 10,000 highrise housing units each....

Then the affected places should be rebuilt somewhere else...

Lagos can do better than having slums called markets litter everywhere in 2026.
Re: The Next Lagos Governor Should Demolish The Following Places by Airlord2030(op): 2:32pm On Jun 18
We need to model Lagos to look more modern.. I saw pictures of some markets in south African cities and was wowed how organized and clean they were..

Lagos needs serious demolition and urban planning to compete with the best cities worldwide. Ditto Abeokuta, Ibadan, Akure etc...

LASG should ban sales of lands by communities.. only LASG should sell lands and it should be used for specific purpose according to masterplan..

Not building a church or event center or market in a residential area....

Those 10000 high rise buildings units can't it be built in that somewhere else ...?

Can't the so called slums that litter everywhere (by litter everywhere being a story for another as if they will not go and litter that somewhere else they will be rebuilt ) be upgraded and modernised if need be?

Do you know how many traders currently operate businesses in those markets you listed and what it entails to move those businesses to that somewhere else you are talking about?

Anyway, I smell a rat in this kind of your talk and I won't even take you seriously!
Re: The Next Lagos Governor Should Demolish The Following Places by ThinkSmarter: 2:39pm On Jun 18
You are not speaking 🗣️ cuz you are concerned about the development or modernization of the markets.
This is borne out of hate for the Igbos.
Markets are located at strategic places that are easily accessible to the populace.
And if the markets are to be modernizd, they can be done in phases without disrupting commerce.
Ariaria int'l market Aba, is currently being modernized in phases without the entire market going down once.
Re: The Next Lagos Governor Should Demolish The Following Places by Airlord2030(op): 2:40pm On Jun 18
This are pictures of some housing units in luanda Angola.. I don't think we have anything like this in Lagos.. you see how massive and organized it is....

Each of this estates accommodate nothing less than 80,000 residents.

those markets are built in the main city centers which are not suppose to exist there in the first place.... They should be demolished and rebuilt somewhere outskirt of the cities...

Markets overcrowd a place and also make it look ugly and dirty....

In abroad you don't see markets like that in the city centers. What you see are shopping malls

sensible post coming from you surprisingly because I thought you'll support his stance seeing that the whole aim of op's write up is to economically destroy and send our SE brothers back to their red mudded republic. Nigeria must sha have that conversation

Look some markets in Lagos need to be demolished asap Alaba market should be top on the list. The market is directly opposite Lagos State University, a centre for learning haring same environment with market with its noise pollution is a misfit.

The bad image of the market on the part to international road that link West Africa countries should not be allowed.

They dont pay taxes. 99% of the payment for the fake goods they sell goes into a personal account on not their business accounts. The real tax payers are the industries.

If buying and selling does creates taxes as you say, then the SE region won't be at the bottom of the VAT remittance. So much worse than even NE Nigeria that is going through a war terrorists.
