Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has called on citizens and residents to actively support the government’s drive against fake pastors operating in the state.

The governor urged the public to provide credible information on individuals disguising themselves as clergymen while engaging in criminal activities.

The appeal was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation, Dr. Law Mefor.

Mefor said the Soludo administration has perfected strategies to take the fight directly to the doorsteps of fake pastors and native doctors as part of a broader effort to eradicate criminality and restore sanity across the state.

“The government is calling on Ndi Anambra and all residents of the state with credible information on pastors, churches, or so-called ‘men of God’ involved in criminality, extortion, fraud, deception, or any act that endangers lives and the peace of our communities, to please speak up,” [/b]Mefor said.

He added that the move is part of the Government’s determination to sanitise both traditional worship and religious practices in the state.

Mefor assured residents that all information received would be treated with utmost confidentiality to protect informants.

It is not Soludo's duty to fight fake pastors, it is left for those who feel they have been scammed by these allegedly fake pastors to file complaints with the police. A note of warning, if Soludo does not desist from this enterprise very soon, next thing you'll hear is the total proscription of Christianity and churches as a whole in Anambra state and indeed Nigeria as a whole. According to Mr Peter Obi, when people are financially empowered, criminality will automatically be reduced. Some of the fake pastors will look for something better when the situation is decent enough.

29. Now Otem, we have done our own part, therefore go and do your part also. Be not lazy in the compilation and interpretation of the texts of histories which we have given to you.

Thank God it's christian dominated state, if it's were to be states like Osun or Kaduna, it would have been very difficult to effect the policy.

So he should just fold his arms while fake pastors and some native doctors continue to fuel insecurity in Anambra?

We all know that some kidnappers, armed robbers, and other criminals hide behind or get support from these people. The governor is simply doing his job by going after anyone linked to criminal activities, regardless of who they are. I believe he's on the right track.

I agree with you. It’s not his business to fight fake pastors.

Fake pastors are cancer to the society, just like how evil and corrupt politicians are cancer to development.

Both have similar traits, which are to enrich themselves through the misery of "he" who they can deceive.

Is he judging by their certification or the kind of miracle they perform?

1. Liars are fake. For example those that predicted wrong champions league results.

2. Fraudsters: Those that collect money for fake miracles.

3. Thieves and Looters: for example, those pastors that can't declare there source of income yet they own fleets of jets.

4. Violence: for example Oritsejafor who's plane was loaded with firearms and the Iseyin pastor who called his army son to attack his neighbour.

5. Drugs and other crimes: for example, the tens of pastors in Thai and Indian prisons caught with different drugs.

This is so rich coming from a region that account for over 90% of super rich pastors and imams and also account for over 95% of total churches and mosques in Nigeria 🇳🇬.
