biggy00000:It is of social value to our children. The children value it and look forward to it. Like I said I have paid for my daughter and she will attend. QED. Politicians should avoid intruding into educational institutions which they have no single knowledge about its Intricacies. They stop graduation in their states but attend for that of their children abroad and some people are here spewing trash in support of these criminals. How much is graduation fees in schools that you can't make it once a year. Abeg I am not that poor. |

Long overdue...The schools are just using it to cash out |
| Re: Ogun Government Stops Graduation Ceremonies In Public And Private Schools by Kobicove(m): 5:17pm On Jun 18 |
It's not happening only in Ogun state, there are other states involved although some have also directed their schools to stop organizing such frivolous parties |
| Re: Ogun Government Stops Graduation Ceremonies In Public And Private Schools by Kobicove(m): 5:23pm On Jun 18 |
MrSly:So because you're not poor parents who are struggling should be forced to pay for a useless graduation party every year. When you went to school such nonsensical parties were not in vogue and I'm sure you did not suffer any behavioural deficiencies as a result of not attending them. |
| Re: Ogun Government Stops Graduation Ceremonies In Public And Private Schools by Pious101: 5:25pm On Jun 18 |
chicfarmer:parents would consider this a relief |

Real2088:Yo, grow up. The article was clear enough as to why graduation ceremonies were banned I'm also going to vote for Obi. Seriously, are you a child, old man? |
| Re: Ogun Government Stops Graduation Ceremonies In Public And Private Schools by saderele: 5:27pm On Jun 18 |
The government is ready to take anything that is giving the citizens happiness. JAPA is the way forward. Let the government cancel convocation because that is another way the universities are extorting the parents and also stop annual dues. |
| Re: Ogun Government Stops Graduation Ceremonies In Public And Private Schools by gassbee: 5:41pm On Jun 18 |
Even nursery school students are now being forced to pay for graduation parties in this lagos |
| Re: Ogun Government Stops Graduation Ceremonies In Public And Private Schools by BeardedMeat(m): 5:41pm On Jun 18 |
Thewrath:Lagos state did same last year, but just this month, I have paid 40k for same nonsense. No compliance anywhere. |

| Re: Ogun Government Stops Graduation Ceremonies In Public And Private Schools by abbasajao(m): 5:59pm On Jun 18 |
Please Lagos State Government should do the same. Imagine a school is asking me to pay additional 25k for gift items or whatever the name for a less that 3yrs old kid. |

Convocation is not compulsory in tertiary institutions. The extortion is killing in addition to forceful purchase of relevant and irrelevant textbooks in first term. Tinubu can not kill us with woeful economy then schools will use our children as ransom to pay for avoidable expenses. I salute the move LibertyRep: |

Titopeblog:Very good. The school are really extorting parents. My brother paid 180 for graduation. The school said they will be the ones to buy graduation suit for every students, imagine. |
| Re: Ogun Government Stops Graduation Ceremonies In Public And Private Schools by Belurved1(m): 6:25pm On Jun 18 |
All the fathers are happy about this decision. Don't mind the mothers; they're the ones causing all these extra expenses for us. Why didn't you people reject it at the PTA meeting? 😄 |
| Re: Ogun Government Stops Graduation Ceremonies In Public And Private Schools by ravensckar(m): 6:35pm On Jun 18 |
IMPARTIAL:Bros, you spoke my mind. I wish Lagos state government can also ban that nonsense. 2 years ago, my child's school sent me a letter that he'll be graduating from Kindergarten to Nursery. I was shocked. I had to put a call through to the Director to be sure I read the letter correctly. If you see the way I shouted at them ehn, you go think sey we dey quarrel before. What arrant nonsense! Today, that same child will be graduating again from Nursery to Primary. They have written a long list of the stuff to buy & pay for; Graduation fee, suit (they even stipulated beige colour), bow tie, shoe, graduation gown (rental) and other nonsense. For a 5 year old child going to Primary 1. I just dey laugh them. If only they know the bad plan that is running through my mind. My son no kukuma no wetin dey go on, he was just like; "Daddy shebi I will ride bicycle on my graduation day?". Abeg, wetin 5 year old know about graduation? Majority of these school owners won't make Heaven! #Picks_tooth |

Rubbish Policy and if We May Ask: • How Many Public Schools have been Constructed by this Dapo Abiodun' s Govt ? Let him list the-Number of Public Schools that was Constructed from the Foundation to the Finishes touches ? • How many Infrastructures Developments Projects Has this Govt Completed: -The Roads 🛣️ Construction 🏗️🚧 Works for the Ogun State People, -The Light 🕯️🚨- including Solar Lights Created and the Location ? -The Youths Development for the Millions of the Ogun State, -The Number of Housing Projects - for the people here? - the Number of Hospitals/ Health Services Care. -The Industrial Development Growth and for the analysis - the Cargo Airfield he governor carries to his Iperu( Home town) was Initiated, and Licences Obtained by Dani el , but is Now claiming the Glory . • Unfortunately, President Tinubu - Could Not See a Non-Performance many Governors in his Party and have to reward them with Senate Seats- that is just terrible! • So,the Banning of Graduation ceremonies - for both Public and Private Schools is the Easiest thing to do,by this Govt- that failed to even come to the Aid and help Many Struggling Private Schools Owners ,in this State- 🥵 😔! And ask,why is he doing that and is that the thing to do in Ogun State Now. Just come to the Rural Areas-in Many Of this State, you will see Dilapidated Public Schools and you will not wish same for your enemies. Very Unpopular Policy! |
