IPOB SACKS NNAMDI KANU AS LEADER, APPOINTS DIRECTOR OF STATES

Following alleged unguarded communications from Sokoto prison where its leader, Nnamdi Kanu is serving his jail term, the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has announced the indefinite suspension of the Office of its Leader and the position of the Director of Radio Biafra, appointing a Director of State to administer the organisation.

A statement by one of its officials, Chikadibia Edoziem said the resolution was taken after a meeting of the Directorate of State on Wednesday June 17, 2026 where it reviewed recent statements that have caused unnecessary arrests and death of IPOB members and innocent citizens in the Southeast.

It is nice step to safeguard ipob.

DOS remain in charge until Mazi Nnamdi Kanu comes out.

They will not allow government hijack and destroy ipob, simple because they have Kanu in custody.

When he comes out,he can be reinstated.

There's no need of keeping empty sit sef.

Two things.
It is either Kanu has been compromised or this is an attempt by agents of government to destabilise the south east. Kanu will not take this news lying down so I expect his foot soldiers to begin rallying around and possibly create a break away faction. There will be 2 factions of IPOB in the near future. With that will come bloodshed and battle for supremacy. The South East will need to be on the alert.
