EKITI GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION: NPF CONCLUDES SECURITY DEPLOYMENT, ACTIVATES EMERGENCY RESPONSE LINE

The Nigeria Police Force has concluded comprehensive security deployments and operational arrangements for the Ekiti State Governorship Election scheduled to hold on Saturday, 20th June 2026. The deployment covers all 2,545 polling units across the State, as well as critical infrastructure, major entry and exit routes, border communities, and other strategic locations.

Providing an update on the Force's preparedness, the Commissioner of Police in charge of Election Security, CP Shogule Abayomi, stated that a multi-layered security architecture has been adopted to ensure a peaceful, credible, and hitch-free electoral process. Security personnel and operational assets have been strategically deployed across polling units and other identified locations to guarantee the safety of voters, electoral officials, observers, and election materials throughout the exercise.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM assures members of the public that all personnel deployed for election duty have been adequately briefed on their responsibilities and rules of engagement and will discharge their duties professionally, impartially, and in accordance with the law.

The Nigeria Police Force warns that electoral offences and any act capable of undermining the integrity of the electoral process will be dealt with in accordance with the Electoral Act and other extant laws. Citizens are therefore urged to remain law-abiding and conduct themselves peacefully throughout the election period.

Members of the public are encouraged to promptly report any security concerns through the dedicated election emergency line, 080062335577, which will remain active throughout the election period to facilitate timely response and intervention.

The Nigeria Police Force urges eligible voters to come out peacefully and exercise their constitutional rights without fear or intimidation, while also cautioning against the spread of unverified information capable of causing panic or disrupting public order.

The Nigeria Police Force reassures residents of Ekiti State of its commitment to the protection of lives and property and the conduct of a free, fair, credible, and peaceful election.

1. Why does NL ban comments of the op himself? Now, this thread is virtually useless.

2. Why are Nigerian politicians so useless and evil? Isn't it Ekiti govt that was throwing bread to her citizens a few days ago?

3. Why is APC so demonic?

Winning in manipulations, self enrichment at the expense of Nigerians, inflicting unheard of poverty, disease and death thru not well thought thru policies, winning in planning to rig elections to force themselves on people who want them out of the kitchen?
Winning thru rigging ur own primary elections with no opposition

Bad success isn't success bro

Are you sure you have a heart or are you basically an enemy of Nigeria disguising as apc supporter and Tinubu lover ?

What is the hate in what that Nigerian citizen just said now ?

For the safety of Nigerians living in the North, the police force have refused to deploy hundreds of officers to curb the banditry and kidnapping up there but they are fast in deploying thousands of officers to Ekiti state for just election.

And you opened your mouth and said he is hating huh

You can never be lover of Nigeria, no way!
