Alex Otti Has Brought More Money Than The Federal Government - Festus Keyamo by onyenatruchi(op): 6:24am On Jun 20
"Alex Otti Has Brought More Money Than the Federal Government" — Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo

This statement is not just about politics; it is about vision, commitment, and what can happen when leaders decide to invest in transformational infrastructure.

Many people may not know that the Federal Government's original plan for Nsulu was simply to build a basic airstrip. It was never designed to become the modern aviation hub that is currently taking shape today.

However, Governor Alex Otti reportedly approached President Bola Tinubu and offered to provide substantial counterpart funding to upgrade the project beyond its original scope.

The result?

✈️ Longer and stronger runways.
✈️ Capacity to accommodate large cargo aircraft.
✈️ Improved aviation infrastructure.
✈️ Greater economic opportunities for Abia State and the entire Southeast.

Because Abia State assumed responsibility for some of the most expensive and specialized aspects of the construction, the state's financial contribution reportedly moved faster than the Federal Government's phased budget releases. This was what led Festus Keyamo to publicly acknowledge the significant role being played by the Abia State Government.

This is the type of development Ndi Igbo have been asking for.

For too long, the Southeast has relied almost entirely on Lagos ports and airports for trade and transportation despite being one of the most commercially active regions in Africa. Every day, thousands of businessmen and women from the Southeast travel long distances to move goods and conduct business.

Imagine what will happen when the Southeast has modern airports, functional seaports, industrial clusters, and efficient rail networks.

✅ More investments.
✅ More jobs for our youths.
✅ Faster movement of goods.
✅ Increased exports.
✅ Stronger regional economy.
✅ Reduced pressure on existing infrastructure elsewhere.

Infrastructure is not a luxury; it is the foundation of economic prosperity.

The Nsulu Airport project is a reminder that when leaders think beyond the present and invest in the future, entire generations benefit.

Today, it is an airport.
Tomorrow, it should be railways.
Next, seaports.
Then industrial parks and technology hubs.

This is the kind of project the Southeast needs—not projects that make headlines for a few days, but projects that create jobs, attract investors, and transform lives for decades.

A prosperous Southeast will not be built by speeches alone. It will be built by bold infrastructure projects that unlock the potential of our people.

Una don come again with your exaggerated nonsense and blatant lies.

The Abia International Airport is a 100% conceived and ongoing executed Federal Govt Project .

The Abia state govt is only providing the land and paying communities for the land acquisition and settling claims to farmlands.

States like Bayelsa, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Gombe , Ogun , Kebbi, Anambra (under Obiano) and Ebonyi state (under Umauhai), constructed and commissioned their airports 100% on their own and they are not even making 1% noise that you propagandists on the payroll of the dwarf are doing over a project that the Tinubu govt is funding 100%.

Even Delta state has two airports - Osubi and Asaba that were constructed and managed by Shell-Mobil and Delta state respectively.

You will just open useless threads hyping the dwarf for allocating land (which is what the state government is expected to commit) and claim that the project is Abia state's.

The Abia International Airport is a Federal Govt Project that when completed will be managed by the same FG under FAAN management.

Small Ebonyi constructed their own airport from scratch and they are not boasting and lying about it

Gombe state Airport is fully state operated and they are not making noise like you guys who are trying to claim FG project as a state project.

Why lie?

The Abia state Airport is a federal govt initiative and project .

Otti is only providing land allocation for it

One naira is not coming out of Abia state purse other than that being used to settle communities whose land is being taken for the project.

The Abia state govt only reviewed the project and asked the FG to increase the runway length and then went to allocate more land for the project .

That's the only money he is contributing to this project and it's going to paying compensation to communities whose land were allocated for the project

Stop hyping nonsense and give credit to where it is due which in this case is the Federal govt led by Tinubu.

This is the only federal airport constructed in the last 30ys and Abia state begged for it to be cited in their state.

Why can't Abia construct an airport like Bayelsa did under Dickson or like that of Akwa Ibom under Akpabio.

This is how you guys will see the good works of Tinubu in your region but will either deny it, downgrade it and in this case deliberately falsely claim it is your Otti constructing it

This is what could have been repeated in Nigeria if Mr Peter Obi has his mandate handed over to him. The way Nnenna Oti was threatened in Abia State was the way different electoral officers were threatened, others succumbed. But Nnenna Oti didn't succumb. Just imagine that Obi was given his mandate, the monumental failure of Tinubu wouldn't have been experienced. Meanwhile, some people are still singing his praises. Nigeria can be great again.

Anambra people asked your Obi to construct an airport for them and your Obi said that there was no land left in Anambra for such purpose.

Go and verify this

Your obi was moaning that Anambra is the second smallest state by landmass and one with a high population density and as such there was no room for any airport .

He even said that they should use either the Asaba airport (constructed by the Delta state) or that of Enugu or Imo owned and managed by the FG.

Obi also was quoted as saying that an airport is not a good investment as the state will lose money on it.

But he was happy to tell Anambra people to use the airport in Asaba that was constructed and operated by Delta state.

If Delta state had not constructed an airport or the FG had not invested in both Enugu and Imo airports, and followed the same line Obi used in dismissing and airport for Anambra, you guys will be the first to scream marginalisation.

FYI, the Abia International Airport is a project lobbied by past Abia state govt begging the FG to come and construct for them.

All other past administrations paid only lip service to it until Tinubu keyed into it.

Rather than being grateful to Tinubu's govt for agreeing to construct a brand new airport for you guys , you are here lying on who is actually behind the project in a bid to dismiss the Bola Ahmed led FG while falsely attributing it to the dwarf and having the temerity to mention Giringori who refused and dismissed a similar project for his own state.

May God help you liars to see and embrace the truth one day.

During his tenure as Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi abandoned the proposed Oba Airport project by citing an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) that declared the site unsuitable.

The specific reasons provided for rejecting the Oba site included:

1. Limited land for expansion.

2. Erosion menace at the location.

3. The presence of high-tension PHCN cables near the site.

Critics and local stakeholders argued that these issues, such as cable relocation or erosion control, were solvable and that the EIA was used to deny the community a long-promised development privilege.

After dismissing an airport project that was earmarked for Oba community in Anambra, your Obi said he will rather use the land set aside for it to construct an industrial estate.

Obi based his decision on a state government commissioned EIA report which no one has set eyes on .

Rather than see to the construction of an industrial estate, the land was allocated to a private property developer to build a housing estate.

Only 20,% of the land was returned to Oba community

This just shows how visionless and greedy Giringori is that a land set aside since the 70s by the old Anambra govt for an airport project was deemed unfeasible by Obi who declared he will rather use the land for an industrial estate only to allocate it to his crony to be used for a private real estate development.

There is not even any record of a commissioned EIA report which your obi used in dismissing the project .

That's how wicked, selfish, corrupt, greedy and shortsighted your Obi is.

It took Obiano to cancel all that nonsense land grab done by Obi and begin the construction of an airport for Anambra.

Re: Alex Otti Has Brought More Money Than The Federal Government - Festus Keyamo by DomPerignon: 8:55am On Jun 20
From a petition by Oba community leaders to the FG on Obi's malfescence regarding the Oba airport project

The first and mother of all controversies came during Mr Peter Obi tenure when he announced that he had carried out an environmental impact assessment of the project at the Oba site, and that the EIA proved that the Oba site was unsuitable for the project. As a result of this new discovery, he said the Oba site was going to be abandoned. The then chairman of the 15-man Anambra Airport project committee set up by Mr Peter Obi in June 2008, Engr Ignatius Ewuzie, said at a press briefing that Oba is inadequate for the airport site for reasons of limited land for expansion, erosion menace and PHCN high-tension cable near the Oba site. The news of the abandonment of the Oba Airport site did not go down well with us who felt that the governor deliberately used the E.I.A. report to deny us a privilege that was long granted to us,the government has not told the people the true reasons for moving the site away from Oba. For one, if the E.I.A. report actually exist, then it would be making nonsense of the administration that sited the project there. Does it then mean that feasibility studies were not done on the Oba site before government started investing huge sums into the project? The said high tension cables, were they installed before or after the site was chosen for an airport? Whatever the answer, can't high tension cables be relocated? If massive buildings are pulled down and whole towns re-settled in order that development projects could go on, why can’t PHCN cables be relocated? The erosion menace, if it really exists, was it there when the Oba site was chosen? Was it not the abandonment of the site over the years that paved way for erosion to wreak havoc? And why will a government that says it is willing to build an airport abandon an already developed site because of erosion instead of looking for means of solving the erosion problem?
Re: Alex Otti Has Brought More Money Than The Federal Government - Festus Keyamo by DomPerignon: 8:56am On Jun 20
The final stroke of deceit came when the present Government told us that the said Site will be used for industrial layout, We agreed but Emodi shoe was never mentioned till we were divided and later informed it was Peter Obi that gave the green light for Emodi shoe dealers, only to see residential buildings being erected by a land speculator call Mr Nwabueze Umeh who have made life so difficult for my people by intimidating them out off the land with some group army's that don't wear their names on their uniforms. This Mr Nwabueze Umeh said that the state Hon Commissioner for lands Sir Okey Moka sold the land to him. The Hon Commissioner told us that 20% of the land have been given back to Oba as compensatory, that means the remaining was sold. My question, is a residential building OVERRIDING PUBLIC INTEREST Sir ?

Trash as always.

Why did Oba people petition the FG over Obi stealing their land that had been earmarked since the 70s for an airport by claiming first the site wasn't suitable for an airport and then saying he will instead use the land for an industrial estate only to allocate it to his crony ego converted the land for real estate development.

Oba community was the original location chosen for an airport for Anambra since the late 70s.

But owing to how Obi stylishly realloted the land to his cronies citing a non existing EIA claiming the project was not feasible , Obiano had to look for another site to build the current airport located in
