I wonder why many people here on Niraland still feel that their State Governors are stones who are in office for decoration. I am glad that the truth is revealing itself. When you ask where the money saved from paying fuel subsidy is going into, now you know the answer.

What is Bayelsa state doing with all that money?

Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom are collecting more than Lagos, yet their IGRs are nothing near Lagos. What are the criteria for allocating these funds to the state government?

Cross river state has the lowest monthly allocation, the lowest of all states and the lowest amongst other riverine states.

So, since 31 states and FCT are all under Tinubu's APC, should we not blamed ?

Of what use are these huge federal allocations to state, if same states residence can't feel any positive impact? Even with such huge allocation states like Bayelsa states still don't have electricity, portable water, and other basic amenities. No be the FG mumu pass for them to dey give thief money, to take care of of who the thief wan go rob? Let's not even talk about the 2 digits inflation.

We are always on their neck. If you do not hold your state governor responsible, nothing much is gonna change in your state..

Increased faac allocation doesn't amount to more funds for the states in terms of value or purchasing power!
It's like bragging about increasing civil servants minimum wage from 33k to 70k but the purchasing power of 70k is almost the same as 33k under Buhari!
What the FG did was to increase the volume of funds but the value remains the same or even less!

Some people keep talking about what governors receive, but conveniently ignore what Nigerians have lost.

Governors didn't raise the pump price of fuel from N187 to over N1,380 per litre. Governors didn't devalue the naira, hike electricity tariffs, increase cooking gas prices, or create the inflation that has made food and transportation unaffordable.

The real question isn't how much governors receive today, it's how much that money is worth after inflation and naira depreciation.

That's where the hardship, economic collapse, worsening insecurity is coming from.

So blame Tinubu not the governors

If you check the value, the value of the previous allocations is higher than the later ones.

Shut up! Jonathan did not generate IGR like Tinubu. It’s a fact. Jonathan did not build any major infrastructure like Tinubu. It’s a fact. Jonathan encouraged corruption by sacking Sanusi and making Deziani steal our money. It’s a fact! Jonathan allowed Chibok girls to be taken away while he did nothing until he left office. It’s a fact!. Governors were borrowing money to pay salaries under Jonathan. It’s a fact. There is no basis for comparison between Tinubu and Jonathan. You have memory loss! Otherwise I shouldn’t be lecturing you on these facts.

It isn't that I'm defending those governors, but we need to consider the current value of their allocations. What 300k will do 4 years ago, 1million will struggle to do it now. The kilometers of road 100 million will construct 4 years ago, 1 billion may not construct same road now.
