CharlesCNG:
Atiku Is Not Buhari and can never be

One of the laziest assumptions in Nigerian politics, which Dele momodu is foolishly invested, is that Atiku Abubakar can simply inherit “the northern vote” in 2027.
That claim is weak for one basic reason: Atiku is not Buhari.

Buhari was not just another northern politician. He had a rare personal cult following, especially in parts of the North West, built over several election cycles. His appeal was deeper than party. His name itself carried emotional and political weight in ways very few northern politicians have ever matched.

Atiku does not command that kind of automatic loyalty. He may have influence, relevance, and recognition, but influence is not the same thing as mystique. Recognition is not the same thing as inherited mass followership.

That is the first weakness in the Dele Momodu-style theory that Atiku controls the North. It confuses Buhari’s personal political capital with Atiku’s ordinary northern relevance. Those are not the same thing.

The North did not become one man’s private estate under Buhari, and it certainly does not become Atiku’s inheritance now. Buhari built a following over years of repeated contests, strong emotional appeal, and a very particular northern image. Atiku has never commanded that same near-messianic standing.

So the first point is simple:

Atiku cannot be treated as Buhari’s automatic heir in the North.

That assumption is not strategy. It is lazy political storytelling.
So, you mean Atiku hasn't been contesting elections to build a cult-like following like Buhari? Dey play. I'm in one of the states in North West presently and I can tell you Tinubu is gone in the North. It's only the South I don't know. He better seat up and prove being master strategist in economy and better the welfare of Nigerians. Otherwise, Nigerians would surprise him starting from the North.

That Momodu no get sense.. as it stands now, no sane Nigerian will ever wish for a Fulani person to emerge as Nigeria's President
In fact, I can say that going forward, no Fulani will near Aso rock again.

Momodu or whatever he is called will soon come to terms with reality.

As of today, I don't see a single southern state Atiku can get 25% from as long as Tinubu as Obi are on the ballot.

As for Dele Momodu saying he will compete in Osun, the only reason he won last time was Governor Adeleke, with that support gone, Atiku will struggle.

The one thing atiku can pray 🙏 for is to get the highest votes and fight for a rerun which is difficult
25% is asking for too much. He's not going to get 10% in any southern states. ADC doesn't exist anywhere in the south.

The major and only problem of the opposition is that, they don’t know what or who they are up against.

If in 2026, Dele can still believe any living thing can defeat His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), then we can always conclude that Dele is not educated about the demigod he is up against.

You can’t conquer something you have not recognized, quantified and acknowledged potentials, and why defeat is a constant!

If election were conducted a thousand times, Peter and Atiku won’t win 1
I wonder how this folks wan take win Tinubu and his 12 million APC soldiers.

Hausa man cannot be voted into power sir, with all due respect a southern man will continue until 2031 when a Northern man from any zone there will take over.

Respect the diversity of Nigeria and its regions.

My brother, if being physically present in the North is enough to predict elections, then I too was in the North before the 2023 election. If you had asked many people then, they would have told you Tinubu had no chance. We know how that ended.

Second, Atiku has indeed been contesting elections for decades. But unlike Buhari, he has never built that kind of emotional, almost cult-like following. His support has always depended more on elite alliances than mass movements.

Third, the North is not one voting unit. The vote is fragmented. The real battle in the North-West is not Tinubu versus the North. It is between APC governors and Atiku. And many core northern voters do not even see Atiku as the embodiment of northern interests.

Besides, Tinubu does not need to sweep the North-West. He simply needs to remain competitive and secure about 35–40% of the vote while maintaining his strengths elsewhere.

Finally, I agree with you on one thing: Tinubu must improve the welfare of Nigerians. Elections are not won by strategy alone.

Atiku's kind of presidency will not be different from Buhari and Tinubu style of leadership. It will still be business as usual. Government of the cabals and kleptomaniacs.

Momodu is a disgrace same as all Southerners working for Atiku to usurp the turn of the South per the rotation agreement.

There won't be a single Northerner who will agree to work for a Southern Presidential candidate attempting to usurp the turn of the North.

I am really ashamed of Southerners. It is our cowardice and lack of principles that has allowed the North to become the over-privileged big problem it is to Nigeria today.

Atiku for where ? Too many Southerners act like b1tches and when you do that you give others the signal to dominate you.

The likes of Dele Momodu are the reason the core North has now become a major problem for Nigeria today when we should have all stood our ground ages ago to insist they shape up or ship out.
this is what yorubas call kii la gbe kii le ju ! you over flogged the issue, its a free world,

i personally, believe All children of a mother must sleep n face one direction,

Dele Momodu is just one man, the last time he contested how many votes did he gather, Men like that shouldn't be a bother

if Most acknowledge it is South turn ... let dele say whatever he wants, Nigeriaks will decide not him.
Re: It Will Be Over For Tinubu, Momodu Outlines Atiku’s Strategy For 2027 by Iriruaga100(m): 12:17pm On Jun 20
Atiku will win core northern states, he won’t get 25% in the south. The election will go into second round because none of the three main candidate will get the required spread.
Tinubu is bleeped already, his alliance in the north is long lost. His only hope in north is Bornu and kogi.

I am very much satisfied with your concluding statement. That's what we desire for Nigerians whether Tinubu, Obi or Atiku. I'm more concerned about the TRUE growth and wellbeing of Nigerians than political leaning.

Uncle Dele 😂

Tinubu to win all the 6 state in the south west .

Obi will to all the 5 state in the south
Nothing

Tinubu and Obi will share votes in the South South region ..
Nothing for Atiku in these places not even 25 percent

North Central
Tinubu to win Kwara State
Tinubu to Win Kogi State
Tinubu to Win Niger State

With Obi been runners up here
But Atiku like to have 25 %

All to share votes in
Benue
Plateau
Nasarawa
The margin between the first and the second here won't be really much and can be over turned by just a massive win in just one state
Like obi over turn it with just a massive win in Anambra State .
A massive win in Ogun State for Tinubu will over turn this etc

Here I have discussed 23 stated out of 36 states .with Atiku to be the 3 runners up here .
In the North West .it will be shared

You are only assuming that you know the North. You don't know the North. The reason the North voted Tinubu was because of Buhari. Buhari voted and showed is vote for the whole world to see. Before then some Buhari supporters needed direction. But now that Buhari is no where. The next Northern leader is Atiku. How many northern elect right now is campaigning for Tinubu in the North right now. Even APC leaders from the north a largely silent.

Forget all this rotational rubbish. Is it even constitutional? Nigerians are dying and you're talking rotational.
Some of you are a joke. "Rotational rubbish"? Nigeria's North and South region are adversarial and just pretending to be in'united' nationhood .

The North and South want to live in irreconcilably different ways. Just that no one wants to confront the Elephant in the room to admit that.

Leaders of North and South only fake 'One Nigeria' unity to gain control of the federal Government , via the Presidency, that has become too inordinately powerful hence the reason some of us are very passionate about a return to regional autonomy.

Please shut up about "constitutional" and put your thinking cap on. If Rotation is not in place then the unprogressive North, if they manages to perpetuate themselves in power, will literally Talibanize our nation. Can't some of you think like adults to see the obvious?

Tragic some of you Southern adults don't get this basic statement of fact even a smart 10 year old should know.

I used to think and defended these your points until I realized Tinubu is an affliction and and very incompetent being that is not only wasting Southern turn but also enabling hardship and insecurity to fester. What have we gained from Southern President Tinubu so far? A good friend is better than a bad brother.

They believes in Jonathan treatment in which without the support of the south it's not possible, Tinubu as a president is different from Tinubu we know 4 years back. Atiku will only get 25% in the south if Obi is not on the ballot and the work seems more easier for Tinubu if Obi is on the ballot.
That is the simple truth.
If Obi is not on the ballot most if not all obidients will vote for Atiku.

The best and surest way would have been joint ticket of Atiku and Obi but that's in the past now.
