They are right in doing that
They know who Nigerians are
We can blame politicians for all we want, but they are just a reflection of who Nigerians are

2027 some people will collect as low as I cup of garri to sell their votes. When we are truly ready for a change we will know
There's a problem with Nigerians for sure.

But there's a problem with guys like you also.

Guys like you are not observant enough to see the chain of causation.

Have you bothered to reflect by asking your self why won't YOU pick bread on the floor the way those people are.

Your guess is as good as mine, extreme poverty. Caused by who? The same govt throwing bread at them.

So you have to understand that it's calculated and systematic.

Anywhere in the world where it is legal for govt to keep minimum wage extremely low in the face of cost of living being extremely high, you will have people behaving like that.

Those people you see are not far from beggars on the road. Many of them are hopeless and belong to no family unity.

They will jump at anything you throw at them and do as you say. Because their oppression has been legalised.

The current nigerian population is too weak and divided for a revolution, in case that is what you are thinking.

The only alternative is in the middle class like you and I recognising that the system is faulty from the foundation, and demand a change.

The constitution of Nigeria is a big fraud that y'all won't talk about. That constitution is the enabler of all the systematic impunity and corruption in nigeria.

Yet, you want to blame a hungry guy that probably haven't eaten for a day for taking free bread when he knows his vote is inconsequential.

Let's drop the hypocrisy

TunezMediaTV:
Visuals of Ekiti State APC throwing bread to hungry Nigerians from a Moving car as if they are chickens has left many on social media lamenting 😢🥲😢🥲

During an interview on Channels Television’s ‘The Morning Brief’ on Thursday, the Head of Knowledge Management and Learning for YIAGA Africa, Safiya Bichi, made a similar assertion.

Bichi remarked that the competitiveness of the Ekiti election would be heightened if there is a significant voter turnout on Saturday.

“Items such as rice, money, Indomie, and various food products are being distributed, along with promises made ahead of the election,” she stated.

Bichi also addressed the prevalent belief among the populace that ‘votes do not count.’

“There exists a common narrative in Nigeria, not limited to Ekiti, suggesting that your vote is inconsequential, and we are urging young individuals to recognize that their votes do matter.

“If votes were insignificant, there would be no one attempting to purchase them, and these are some of the messages we are using to reassure and motivate citizens to participate in our electoral process,” she added.

Her comments come as Ekiti gears up for its governorship election, which is set to take place on June 20, 2026.

There is no progress for our nation until we the masses are ready. You blame your leaders for not performing and being wicked to you when indeed you have mortgaged your future and the future of your unborn generations. To make a country work is not by miracle, it's by doing the right things, standing for the right, and holding our leaders accountable.
Shebi dem don get bread wey dey and their unborn generations go chop throughout their lifetime. This is how it's being done every time and we keep allowing these wicked people to distort our mentality and reduce us to paupers? Some of the things some people distrubute have been spiritually "poisoned".
So, this is how you want to make your country work by doing "dibo ko se obe" ("vote and get money for soup"wink? The suffering go continue na. We never see anything. It shows the level of our pauperism whihc we allowed the politicians to inflict on us.

Let is be known to all and sundry that nothing good can come out of a country like Nigeria until the masses are ready to say enough is enough.

If you give bread even in the USA, Canada or Europe, people will take it and it does not mean they have no source of income. If you give even Tinubu 50k he will take it.

For politics to be serious let party membership be only financial, to be a valid member for a financial year then you must pay an annual due even if it is 5k and that is when you can vote in primaries or stand for elections. That way the only source of party funding will not be nomination forms because for now you can't join politics to contest unless you are a moneybag. A party with only 100k financial members already have money for campaign and will not ask for much money from candidates running on it's platform. That is one point to start from.

If a party has 100k financial members in a state like Ekiti it will not have any problem winning the governorship and if they share bread it will just be because they want to do charity which isn't bad

What is Lagos population ? 25 million
Rest of SW ? Maybe 30 million
Yoruba in the SS at least 2 million
Yoruba in the NC at least 7 million
Total in Nigeria 64 million
The number of non natives in Yoruba land is less than Yoruba scattered around the world without including non Nigerian Yorubas.

Don't be counting the Yoruba population as if half of the population on the land are not Yoruba. Which stats say that? Any non Yoruba on Yoruba land is more than accounted for by Yorubas in other places
One has to be modest with these figures grin

As i earlier said, It's a class movement. Not for an individual to lead.

We have to organise ourselves to form a unit (ie southern youths must appraoch and woo northern Youths to get them on board) , then develop our objectives and ideology and a road map.

Then mobilize the lower class (the bread picking demographic) through civic education and engagement with them in their mother tongue. So that they can be the muscle of the movement.

The movement will comprise endless dialogue, strikes, protests, international protests, social media hashtags all asking for specific foundational amendments:

1. Return to regional govt (true federalism
2. Return to regional resourse control.
3. Capital punishment for embezzlement of public funds
4. Demonetisation of emoluments of political offices (their pay should reflect state of the nation, a poor country should not have the best paid politicians).

If we vigorously make these few demands as a class, all the problems we talk about will vanish in 10 years.

Nigeria was granted its independence on the condition of regional autonomy for a reason. We are very different peoples living together in one country.

We must go back to regionalism with regional resource control as it was in the beginning.

Is cooking gas from the soil, abi they won't cook the crop.

Is petro or diesel from the soil, a I they won't transport it to the market.

Is electricity from the soil, they must preserve the produce for sustainance.

Lastly, are they safe while tilling the soil.

There's more to food security than just having arable soil.

Where there's irresponsible govt, there will be hunger. It's simple.

Let's be realistic.

These people are hungry and can never resist free food.

A hungry man does not and cannot think of tomorrow. He just wants to eat and see front first.

Their sanity and mentality have been destroyed by hunger and hardship.

This oppressive government is deploying a psychological warfare against the people.

Make you very hungry then offer you crumbs when you're needed. No animal on the surface of the earth can resist that kind of food.

Rather, the battle is to be lead by a class of people like you who cannot be manipulated.

The middle class will lead the lower class by example to demand a new structure.

And importantly, it cannot and will not be by election

I doubt there will be a time when they will stop.

More because they are hopeless for a change. We all know the Nigerian population is very fragmented and divided by many factors.

So asides endless hunger, another reason they keep collecting election food is that they see it as the only benefit they can claim in the absence of true dividend of democracy.

But to answer your main question, it doesn't matter whether they won't die if election bread didn't come, it's the fact that they are trapped in survival mode and will rush at anyone who who offers food.

These are people who live from hand to mouth without any social safety net.

They cannot resist anything my friend. They cannot say enough is enough when food or money is involved.

You're right, but Rome wasn't built in a day. If we had stood our ground collectively when they started using this approach, we wouldn't have become this impoverished to the point of disgracing ourselves this way. The damage has been done already and it's going to take real hard work to reset our mentality.
Thanks,sir.
