Ekiti is voting today, and the real time results tracker I built is live. How it works: I pull each form EC8A the moment INEC uploads it to the IReV portal, use a large language model to read the votes off the form, then run a series of checks and count only the forms that add up. Everything happens in real time. Validated the model against the Anambra election and saw over 90% accuracy. Not official results (only INEC declares a winner), just the most transparent live view you'll find. Follow along: https://ekiti.mundx.com

Baawaa:The North Was Supposed to Have Rejected APC. Then Kano Voted. For months, Nigeria's social media warriors, assisted by professional prophets of doom and election astrologers, have confidently informed us that APC is dead in the North. Dele Momodu and the usual online commentators assured us that the North had moved on and that 2027 was already settled. Then the voters of Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency in Kano showed up. And they voted. The result? APC's Shuaibu Rabiu secured over 35,000 votes. The nearest challenger barely crossed a few hundred votes. Apparently, the obituary writers forgot to inform the electorate that APC had already died. This is the difference between politics and social media. Social media rewards noise. Democracy rewards organisation. For all the endless declarations that "Nigerians have rejected APC," one simple question remains: Rejected by whom? By YouTube channels? By Twitter spaces? By professional outrage merchants? Because elections have a cruel habit of exposing fantasies. The same people who spent months predicting APC's funeral are now preparing the usual excuses. "Incumbency." "Bread." "Vote buying." "State power." Anything but the possibility that voters may have made a choice they dislike. Perhaps the opposition should spend less time manufacturing narratives and more time manufacturing votes. Because anti-Tinubu sentiment is not a manifesto. Hashtags are not structures. And outrage is not organisation. As for the social media warriors, one can only sympathise. Once again, reality has rudely interrupted prophecy. And once again, the ballot box has proved itself a far harsher examiner than Twitter. Votes speak. Echo chambers merely echo. |

CharlesCNG:Another super post by you and thanks for it. One thing to mention about the Anti Tinubu sentiment, these Obidients, for it is them, think people will go out and vote out of spite against President Tinubu and for Parties like NDC that have zero discernible structures and lack any kind of organisation. They don't get that you have to work hard to get disillusioned Nigerians to vote in bye elections. APC are putting in the man and woman hours so not surprising that despite poor voting percentages based on those registered, they are winning. In fact, you have to work doubly hard to remove a "sitting" party in Nigeria, never mind a well oiled election focused party like APC. A party that I am neither a member of nor would vote for. Presidents Buhari and Tinubu came together and did so to remove PDP, our Obidient friends think abusing and insulting neutrals like me that don't believe in their messiah is the way forward. Let's hope Obidients can read the tea leaves and direct their energies to a more fruitful scenario like trying to unify a fragmented opposition. |
