2026 Ekiti Election: INEC Declares APC's Biodun Oyebanji Winner by yns4real(op): 3:50am On Jun 21

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election.

According to the final results announced by the State’s Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr Bunmi Omoseyindemi, the APC secured 319,224 votes, defeating its closest rival, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which polled 40,543 votes. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) came third with 12,872 votes.

Oyebanji’s victory confirms his return to office for another term following a historic win at the polls.

Now that the results are already ready,, analysts (like myself) can now begin their own extensive analyses in order to have a good understanding of the processes and procedures of the whole election.

Meanwhile, I wonder why the results were already announced so quickly

How come the whole results from all the parts of Ekiti State - including the remotest parts of Ekiti State - have already reached the final collation center within some few hours??

The NDC spokesman said that all parties had their primaries and other processes last year but NDC was only registered in February, so they could not take part in this election.

It is obvious you have absolute no idea what Ekiti state looks like. There is no remotest parts in Ekiti. Ekiti has a very good land terrain and there is no part of the states that can't access the capital city by road in less than two hours. So, how is it a big issue that the overall result is already ready at this time? My local government result and like wise others were already ready by 6:30pm yesterday.

You called yourself an analyst and without interrogating anything, you refused to congratulate the winner first. Instead, you are already trying to find fault in the process. That clearly shows your intention was never altruistic. That is why I always laugh at all your threads because your intention is never how to ensure a free and fair election but how to manipulate the law to give Peter Obi the advantage to win the next election. Sadly, that will never happen in your lifetime. Peter Obi will never be president of Nigeria.
