She was elected by the council members, not an election by the people. With her salary, I doubt she can do anything, as this looks like a ceremonial position - first among equals. My City recently did the same, removing the rights of the people to vote for their own Mayor because the current Mayor lives in a new community that overwhelmingly votes drowning out the votes of people that have lived in the City for Decades. She often have conflicts with the council members. I like her though, cos she brings new energy and innovation not the old ways of doing things. After that reshuffle, I doubt she would be elected Mayor again. I saw her contesting for the Democratic Committee slot in the primary election. Election in the West is not your mate.

Tomorrow if an Igbo person contests for a fair and elective position outside the South East, it becomes a problem for us.

Well I understand the geopolitical sentiments however, we should be Nigeria First. Then and only then, can we all mingle freely and take ownership in wherever we are, and contribute to that immediate society.
All of Nigeria belongs to ALL OF US.

Ordinary if an Ebonyi person contests for a fair and elective position outside Ebonyi but still in the South East, it becomes a problem. Never mind a non Igbo person.

Please cut out the hypocrisy.
