The Nasarawa North Senatorial bye-election has produced a result that should interest students of politics and amuse students of social media.

Results:

* APC – 45,362 votes
* Labour Party – 12,931 votes
* PDP – 11,570 votes
* ADC – 4,244 votes
* NDC – 1,496 votes
* NNPP – 102 votes

In percentage terms, APC secured roughly 60% of the vote.

Labour and PDP each scored about[b] 17% [/b]and 15%, respectively.

ADC managed around 5.6%, while the much-advertised NDC secured a princely[b] 2%[/b].

Two percent.

Apparently, social media likes do not count as votes after all.

For months, some people have behaved as though elections are won by Twitter Spaces, YouTube channels and abuse of neutrals.

Nasarawa voters, however, seem to prefer the old-fashioned method of counting actual votes.

Even more interesting is that the supposedly "finished" PDP continues to outperform the heavily advertised ADC and NDC.

Ekiti told a similar story.

Perhaps politics is more than content creation and coalition press conferences.

Perhaps organisation matters.

Perhaps structures matter.

Perhaps candidates matter.

And perhaps voters are stubborn creatures who insist on voting instead of consulting YouTube analysts.

Have you forgotten that Late Ewuga brought him from Lagos and recommended him to the then Abdullahi Adamu who made him commissioner then subsequently succeeded Wado as Deputy governor.
What did maku d0, he contested severally with Ewuga vying for the seat of governor.
David is just paying him back in his own coin despite making him his campaign DG in 2023 .
