Sokoto Prison Is Hell On Earth .

I was transferred to Sokoto prison in 2018 after receiving a life sentence in 2013 on trumped-up charges of accessory to treason without evidence. My time in Sokoto prison was extremely challenging, and I struggled to cope. I turned to Christianity and became the prison's pastor, where I found solace. The prison had around 1,500 inmates, with only 28 Christians and less than 100 English speakers. The majority spoke Hausa, Fulani, and Buzu.

One of the most disturbing aspects was the prevalence of homosexuality among inmates. To survive, I had to be humble and adapt to the harsh environment. The prison cells were overcrowded and difficult to endure, but I managed to survive 14 years of incarceration. I vividly remember my wife's visit, which was made possible by Pastor Miebi Bribena, Amb. Boladei Igali, and Barr. Oweilaemi Roland(IYC President then ). She flew from PH to Sokoto, and despite the hostile treatment by wardens, she showed me love and compassion. The emotional moment we shared, including a kiss despite my poor oral hygiene, was a testament to her devotion.

Sokoto prison is a very difficult place.

A Thursday evening in May 2024, my stubborn younger brother was picked up by Red House police in Iju Ishaga (smoke dey him hand), and by the following morning he was transferred to Special Offences- Bolade.
Initially I wanted him 'scared straight', but when I got to Bolade at Oshodi, and saw the conditions in the cells, fear catch me join, instantly, I call my Mama to rally bail.

If police cell dey that bad, I no wan begin imagine how kirikiri minimum talk less of maximum go be like.

This is Sokoto prison, not Kuje, nor Ikoyi. This particular prison is in the category of Yola prison. That was where Abacha sent Obasanjo to.

The kind of slaps Kanu is getting in the hands of Fulani warders in Sokoto, his ears must have been condemned by now.

He will need ear transplant by the time he comes out.

I was never a fan of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu neither was I supporting him. But the matters unfolding in recent times in relation to the kidnapping in the West were all what he said before. It's now clear that the Fulanis are behind his arrest as he has over exposed them. From my personal observation, every true Nigerian needs to fight for the freedom of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Look at how the Fulanis are speaking out against Igboho and VDM of recent. Why? Because they are speaking out against their jihad.

The way the usual suspects flip flop and change the rules as the game proceeds is an act that needs to be studied.

The same people who stated categorically that Nigeria will BURN if Nnamdi Kanu is jailed to flip flop and start claiming that Nnamdi Kanu is having the time of his life in Sokoto prison shows the manipulative and self delusional nature of these characters.

These same group claimed Simon Ekpa could NEVER be jailed because he is a Finnish citizen. The terrorist is now convicted and serving jail time in a prison cell in Finland for terrorism.

The level of cognitive dissonance and self delusion is an art that requires studying. How a rational human being can delude him/her self that confinement to a jail cell for life is equivalent to living a VIP treatment just makes the mind boggle.

May God Almighty touch the government to release Nnamdi Kalu before 2027 elections and so many souls 🙏 behind bars and detention who have in them repentance and tenderness in Jesus name amen 🙏. Pls Tinubu help those suffering untold reality and give them a new life.

I have never seen any criminal that admit their crimes

They always say they are innocent

You can not serve life sentence and be innocent...you must have committed a grevious crime to be given a life sentence

Kanu brought it upon himself. This is someone living and doing fine in London, but suddenly abandoned the luxury and engaged in acts of terrorism. He still went further to have the animal boldness of challenging a sitting judge in his court. This place is a 5 star hotel compared to where he should be put.

If that is a prison, while it's not an ideal place to be, it looks a lot better than other prisons I have seen. That actually looks like the homes of some people.
