A lot of Nigerians are planning to leave this country, but most of them make costly mistakes that delay them for years or waste hundreds of thousands of naira. I have put together everything I know about the relocation process, visas, finances, documents, country options, and how to prepare yourself before you even apply. Here are a few things most people don't know: 1. Your bank statement matters more than your visa application Most embassies want to see consistent transactions, not a one-time huge deposit. Many people get rejected because of this alone. 2. Choosing the wrong country can set you back 3-5 years Some countries are easier to enter but harder to work in legally. You need to match your skills and situation to the right destination. 3. You don't need an agent for most processes Agents charge between ₦200k–₦500k for things you can do yourself with the right information. Drop your questions below, I will answer as many as I can.

The first 6 months for any new country be when most people break down because dem think say dem dey escape something, but dem don enter another problem. Visit the place first before you go permanently. If you no fit survive 3 weeks there as local person, you no ready at all. |

Plan yourself well and don't migrate because you want to run out of Nigeria. Have a valid reason for migrating. |

If many of Nigerian youth get the needed funds for Japa, youths would have been scare in this country. Just imagine the only agenda of the APC government is to rig them selfs in to continue the heavy mess they started. God help us |

Leaving Nigeria is worth it. Choose a nice country and enter legally. The worst thing you can do to yourself is to migrate to a country illegally, your body go tell you. There is no how eh no go hover you. |

Many just drop sensational headlines that offer few benefit to readers. The single most important thing is to have a plan 1. What do you want to do when you get there? Eg i am a banke, pharmacist, engineer, tech bro in Nigeria, 2. What will it take to get into that same profession when You get there? 3. Meanwhile, how do you get income while waiting and preparing? What are you willing to do.... (Uber, care, waitressing, factory) Where the real problem knocks is the point where you cannot transit from one work to another Perhaps your skill from is so niche that you cannot find where to leverage it in your environment. Eg you are a successful typist in Nigeria, but when you went abroad, it's not something that makes you stand out.. there are faster typists than you and they know a shit load of more skills you don't have Do you stay put or do you acquire new skills? What's the cost of acquiring the new skills? And what happens when you've acquired it and still no 'good job' ? People have been cajoled into tech, but least face it AI will make it all useless in a few months (not years) Do you drop all you've been at the airport and just go into what's reigning (plumbing, electric, mechanic) ? How easy is that route too? Is it just for the money? Do you have a drive for it? Can you start learning to work on scaffolding when you're already 40 and vertigo is wounding your brain? Can you genuinely be happy with what life deals you abroad while you wait your turn? There's a loneliness no body talks about,it's not about taking fine pictures and doing Yanga for people at home who see it as enjoyable, unfortunately it's easy to brush off. It festers in the mind, what is your release? How do you ease the battle in your head without going ballistic towards your spouse? ( That's why they say abroad marriages suffer) We're a communal race, we tend to forget that easily, abroad kills that life, that's why their own people resort to drugs and alcohol to numb the mental pain! |
