There is no way Cape Verde won’t beat Saudi to qualify. Most organized African team at the WC. |

Capaldi:The quality of football has generally been low for sometimes now and not only the world cup. |

But why are people dragging Doku for withdrawing from the world cup for birth of his child? Even people doing the toughest of jobs are allowed leave to attend to attend to such important family issues. I guess probably because football is a very emotional sport, the emotions is clouding fans' sense of judgement to see Doku didn't do anything wrong by leaving camp to be with his expectant wife. The negative energy they are channeling towards him no make sense at all. |

BlueRayDick:Did he withdraw completely, or is he going to come back ahead of their last group game? |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by BlueRayDick: 1:36pm On Jun 22 |
patrickmuf:The video I watched in which he announced his decision, he said he was withdrawing from the world cup to be with his wife for the birth of their child. |

I read somewhere about Chelsea planning to go for Mike Maignan again, how true is this news cos i believe Chelsea is in dire need of a good keeper |

Micah Richards is working for all the sports broadcasters and even Netflix. I respect the grind same with Beckham. You could watch up to 5 different ads back to back during the hydration breaks and Becks will be on all. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by patrickmuf(m): 2:16pm On Jun 22 |
BlueRayDick:He should have just taken some days off. Probably miss a match or two. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by andrewbaba44: 2:53pm On Jun 22 |
BlueRayDick:I get you ,I totally do ,it’s harsh dragging doku but but ,didn’t doku know the expected delivery time of his son before the wc so maybe he would have sat out of the competition |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by iamoyindamola(m): 2:56pm On Jun 22 |
andrewbaba44:Thank you Now he's not injured but completely pulled out making them short one, he could have completely withdraw before the tournament. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by BlueRayDick: 3:10pm On Jun 22 |
andrewbaba44:Expected Due Date is an estimate that is not always accurate. Some babies come weeks after EDD. You will be surprised to find out that some people deliver 3 weeks after EDD while some much earlier. What if it's doctor's advise that the baby should be delivered few weeks earlier than expected. Make una no just dey assume like say everything in this life is linear o. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by andrewbaba44: 3:19pm On Jun 22 |
BlueRayDick:I no assume o ,and I also can’t fault him since it’s the birth of his child despite me thinking his decision was somehow |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by andrewbaba44: 3:21pm On Jun 22 |
iamoyindamola:If na Wetin him go go spend days with the family then return for the last game I for still understand Blueray just said even if he knew the delivery date he can’t know the expected time ,well he can’t be more than a month late ,so since he knew this was going to be the place ,baba for Just sit down for house ,now the spot don waste |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by raumdeuter: 3:28pm On Jun 22 |
BlueRayDick:If he knew this - That his wife was due during the world cup and he doesn't want to miss the birth of the child, he could have pulled out completely and allow the country make a sub when they still had time. Now they have to play with a man short. If you are the coach or the fans that has maybe another player at home who could have been useful but whose space was taken by Doku, what do you say This is not an totally unknown thing like a child born premature, It feels selfish sha to claim the spot, deny someone and still not be available |

raumdeuter:You've said it all. Mika Godts or another player would've been selected... |

Bombblacks:Micah is the OG hustler. That guy works 24/7. You’ll notice he’s always traveling if you watch The Rest is Football. The grind is the grind. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Kimbeast: 3:37pm On Jun 22 |
andrewbaba44:Why? He’s not pulling out of the tournament. He will simply be there for the birth, stay for a day or so and then rejoin the national team. Delph did exactly the same thing with England during the 2018 World Cup. With their current form Belgium won't even make the quarterfinals which is the expected due date. I honestly don’t understand why it has been overblown and it's now a distraction for the Belgium team. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Leyqute(m): 3:39pm On Jun 22 |
Make Una leave Doku alone. What he should’ve done is take a couple of days off for the birth of his child and be back with the group in 24 hours. He can come back and push them to the semis. It’s not like that Dutch squad is filled with exceptional talent. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Kimbeast: 3:39pm On Jun 22 |
raumdeuter:He informed the Belgium association of football before the tournament. It's not really a big thing. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Leyqute(m): 3:42pm On Jun 22 |
All the hate and perambulations are unwarranted. It’s his first child. Allow him have a personal moment with his family. If it was Messi or Ronaldo, una go quiet. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by andrewbaba44: 3:42pm On Jun 22 |
Kimbeast:If he is not pulling out of the tournament then wahala no Dey be that I already stated earlier that its fine to just miss a game and be back for the team last group game |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by andrewbaba44: 3:44pm On Jun 22 |
Leyqute:You sure say ogunmepon 41 go spare wc game for child birth 😁 |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Kimbeast: 3:44pm On Jun 22 |
andrewbaba44:He's not pulling out. The child expected birth is in July during the quarterfinals not group games. Belgium won't even make it that far. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by andrewbaba44: 3:46pm On Jun 22 |
Kimbeast:Fairs since he isn’t pulling out |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by AirBere: 3:47pm On Jun 22 |
I read that he's pulling out completely. But If he isn't then I dont see any issues. Belgium sef no sabi... |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by BlueRayDick: 3:49pm On Jun 22 |
raumdeuter:And you think he would'nt have informed the FA about his wife's condition before accepting the call-up? He probably informed them and they were open to allow him leave should his wife's delivery fall within the period the world cup is still on. Methinks people always judge others unfairly without knowing the full deatils/situation of things. It happens mostly in football and I get it's because of the emotions fans attach to the sports. But sometimes fans need to keep their emotions in check, sometimes a little humanity matters abeg! |

A Norwegian player also had his first child two days back and it was facetime he used to chat with his wife. What exactly is Doku going to offer there in person that he can't do with video chat. |
