YOUNGEST GOALSCORERS IN FIFA WORLD CUP HISTORY Some of football's biggest names announced themselves on the world's biggest stage at a very young age. Here's how the top 10 currently stand: 1. Pelé (Brazil) – 17 years, 239 days (1958) 2. Manuel Rosas (Mexico) – 18 years, 93 days (1930) 3. Gavi (Spain) – 18 years, 110 days (2022) 4. Souleymane Mbaye (Senegal) – 18 years, 143 days (2026) 5. Michael Owen (England) – 18 years, 190 days (1998) 6. Nicolae Kovács (Romania) – 18 years, 197 days (1930) 7. Dmitri Sychev (Russia) – 18 years, 231 days (2002) 8. Lamine Yamal (Spain) – 18 years, 343 days (2026) 9. Lionel Messi (Argentina) – 18 years, 357 days (2006) 10. Cavan Green (United States) – 19 years, 25 days (2026) What's remarkable is that Pelé's record has stood for 68 years and counting. Also interesting to note that Spain now have two players on the all time top 10 list: Gavi and Lamine Yamal. Do you think anyone will ever break Pelé's record? And which player on this list went on to have the greatest international career?

Ronaldo will not score a single goal. He should retire |
| Re: Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Thread by Bluna: 3:05pm On Jun 22 |
I've noticed that media are trying everything to hype the boy Yamal as if he's the best young player we've ever seen in the history of football. Boy is good, but he is still far away from being the best. Yesterday, Mikel Oyarzabal was the best player on the field, he scored 2 goals and made one assist, yet the whole media is talking about Yamal. This hype won't take him anywhere. |

Fatbam003:He's finished, selfish and an impediment to Portugal's chances of success. |
| Re: Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Thread by GrammarNazi1(m): 3:14pm On Jun 22 |
Northsouth:Even if Yamal wins the Ballon d'Or 10 times (though this is not likely going to happen), he won't still be the best player in history. |

| Re: Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Thread by EponObi(f): 3:34pm On Jun 22 |
Bluna:You obviously know nothing about a team poster boy. Every team, club or country, has one key player they use as the face of the team. It's also about marketability. Portugal/Man U/Madrid/Juventus/Al-Nassr has/had CR7 Argentina/Barca/Inter Miami has/had Messi Spain/Barca has Yamal PSG had Mbappe, now has Dembele. If Inter Miami or Argentina wins and Messi didn't score or assist, Messi will be used as the face for the win. Same thing is happening to Yamal. Between Yamal and Oyarzabal, which one of them has the most marketing value? Yamal has more global rave, hype, and appeal than Oyarzabal, so brands and the media will make more money using him as the face and giving him media attention. |
