2025 to 2026 is a huge blessing to me; getting a graduate Assistant role, shortlisted for CDCFIB also. But then, one can only choose 1 at a time. I pray that some merit base be filled with these 2 FG vacancies I'm leaving behind.

Even without human connection but with only God, I got three government jobs in five years. 2 federal and one state job.

I am a champion of merits. Many people with something upstairs won't have problems getting jobs if not for greedy, corrupt politicians and their supporters.

I'm happy for you dear. My junior sister was called for DSS training. I pray God to open doors for all prospective job applicants.

NSCDC pays more. There's also room for bribery and corruption, if that's your thing. No need to further your education. But, you will wear uniform, be exposed to more risks, work on public holidays, transfer to states you never dream of going, probably work outside in the harmattan or in the rain. It comes with the job.

Graduate Assistant pays less but you don't get room for bribery and corruption like in Civil Defense. You get to stay and plan your life in one place with your family. No fear of transfers. No writing of promotion exams every three years with fear of failure. No working outside during harsh weather. But you will mark, supervise students, write journals and academic papers, make research, attend conferences.

Choice wisely.

Your story seems almost exactly with a lady I know. She applied for jobs as most people do. She got in her state and now shortlisted by cdcfib. She's already working with state before this shortlist. She has absolutely no connection except connection to Nature (aka God).

Which of those jobs did you choose?

That 40 slot was not freely given to him. He paid for it using his influence. Any senator sharing apls paid for it.

Paid for it or stole it from the children of the masses to the children of the connected? Lawmakers are known to threaten agencies of government to give them job slots or have problems with their budget passage.

Corruption and nepotism keeps growing while those who benefit keep applauding.

For every letter given out without fair competition, someone somewhere has been denied opportunity to work because they aren't connected. For every job slot celebrated, someone better is going through pains of rejection and possibly depression.
