What Next For The Bandits? by lawani(op): 7:35pm On Jun 22
What next for the bandits?

Now that the bandits in Oyo state have been surrounded, their sympathizers that can reach them should advise them to surrender because the number of people they kill will obviously be deducted from any mercy coming their way. That is the only negotiation that can be easy. A teacher and three soldiers have already been killed.

The best way forward for them is to separate themselves from the kidnapped victims and allow the soldiers to pick them up as that is the surest way that casualties can be reduced. If none of them want to live to an old age, they should keep the victims with them

That will be too much of an undertaking for me when there are professional Babalawos that can be contacted and offered the contract

They haven't even been released and you have created a thread of victory

This is like a drop of water in the ocean.

Just today there was a mass burial in Benue.

Have some shame

Those guys crossed the wrong ethnic group.. they are dead men living on borrowed time.
Even if they use 1 year there in that bush, not a single one of them will escape.

Yorubaland is not Chibok.. this is why we are warning our people to wake up and stop allowing strangers too much freedom in South West. Even South Africans have realized the mistakes of unchecked influx of migrants.

If the location of the ones in Benue were known and they have been surrounded, I would offer the same advise to the bandits and their sympathizers. What is there to be ashamed of in that?

Do you prefer a bloodbath?

Stop comparing South African case with Yoruba situation in Nigeria.

You are violating the Nigerian constitution and ought to be picked up and prosecuted for calling fellow citizens like you migrants.

If Nigeria had a working judiciary and security, you and people like you ought to be picked up and used as an example to teach others national ethics.

Your fellow countrymen can never be migrant in your region.

Nigeria is one nation as you guys preach and champion. The one nation comes with ups and downs. You cannot be interested in reaping only the good fruits and reject the bad seeds of one united Nigeria, that is a call for anarchy and possible civil unrest.

The constitution of Nigeria gives every Nigerian citizen the right to live lawfully in any part of Nigeria they wish to reside so long as they remain law abiding and if they break the law, it is the duty of the security to arrest and prosecute them accordingly not your job or duty to do.

So by the Nigerian constitution, no state Governor or Government have the constitutional rights to stop or reject any Nigerian from his or her state unless there is verified evidence of crime commitment which will be handled by the security and court.

If Yorubas want to have the constitutional right to call other Nigerians migrants or to stop other Nigerians from residing or coming to Southwest, then they must summon the courage and confidence to seek for their own independent country where they can then use their newfound country's constitution to deny none citizens entry into their country and borders.

So if Yorubas cannot be bold enough to form their own independent country where they can have full control of their borders , then you guys must learn to respect other Nigerians coming into your region, if you see the bad ones, use the security to arrest them and prosecute them accordingly not profiling the entire tribe.

Let me remind you that your fellow Igbos in the Senate and House of Reps were the ones opposing more seats for Lagos State to be properly represented in the National Assembly, they fought against any grant for Lagos that is feeding the entire country inclucding landlocked enclaves contributing nothing to national purse.

It just shows you people's dishonesty.. if not, with the hate and disdain your folks exhibit towards Yoruba people, you should naturaaly stay away and distance yourself from us, but NO, your folks still want to run to Lagos and even disenfranchise Yorubas in their own region which will never work.

FYI, restructuring and return to regionalism will checkmate all these nonsense happening in the country. The reason Aguiyi Ironsi abolished regional system of government is now clear for all to see.

They're not the everyday bandits, they're terrorists from the breakway ansaru. Those people would prefer suicidal gunfight than capture.

They are not insane I believe. Their best bet is to release the victims and try to escape from the forest

Terrorists ARE insane.

Sane people would neither kidnap and torture little kids and nursing mothers, nor callously behead an innocent family man.

Terrorists are insane enough to blow themselves up in suicide attacks fo 72 virgins.

Do not underestimate the derangement of ideological terrorism.

I believe they want to enjoy life was why they were asking for huge ransoms. It is their choice whichever path they choose.

They can't enjoy life hidden in bushes. They ask for ransom to finance their terror.

You're mixing up economic bandits with jihadists.

Asking for money at all is a kind of indication they intend to live long to spend it

You do realize they need money to buy guns, bullets, bombs, food, medicine, vehicles and fuel right?
