Goodluck had spine. It was Bloodshed Goodluck didn't want. If Ojukwu had done that there would have been absolutely no need for the bloody Civil War Ojukwu failed to apply Wisdom and still fled after huge loss of life on top Wisdom is the greater Military Commander and strategist |

christistruth01:Well, Ojukwu did not want war either, that's why he risked his life to travel to Ghana to reach a negotiated accord with Gowon at Aburi Guess who broke the accord on their return to Nigeria? |

Tijani009:Goodluck is the reason why Nigeria is in the mess it currently is. As president and commander in chief of the armed forces, he undoubtedly received security reports that terrorist elements were being invited into the country and harboured in strategic locations all over the country. He must have been aware of the arms being imported to arm them. Yet he did nothing. He could only say his ambition was not worth the blood of any Nigerian. A number of APC chieftains have openly admitted that they brought in Fulani from the Sahel to destabilise the country if Jonathan refused to concede the election. These are the Fulani that are wrecking havoc all over Nigeria now. Let's not forget that when the Abuja - Kaduna train was bombed and passengers seized, the terrorists in their demands stated that President Buhari knows what they want. Apparently, after winning and becoming president, the terrorists felt he abandoned them. The question is, what possible interaction did those terrorists have that they can say that a sitting president is aware of their needs? Few weeks later, the Kuje prison was attacked and hardened terrorists freed. This was inspite of the DSS releasing a secret memo earlier warning about the possibility of that attack. Before the attack happened, key security outposts around the target area were redeployed and no response came while the terrorists attacked the Kuje prison for hours. Goodluck could have prevented all that from happening by ordering the arrest of everyone behind the plot to import killers from the sahel region into Nigeria. But he didn't do that. |

Well, the problem is not GEJ or whether he let APC In. Plus, all of you guys, you will call APC antidemocractic, while saying that GEJ should have done anti-democratic things ..right. Keep in mind that Nigeria';s problem is resource dependency. Neither PDP APC or even Obi, tinubu and atiku are ready to face that problem because it means no more sharing of money, no more free money, hard choices. So, they continue the bad policies of the past. |

Had a spine? Didn't all of us witness what they did to Khadafi? I'm sure you must've seen how vested they were in that particular election. It wouldve been a total bloodbath and yet,he would've been deposed . |

You don't know the satanic alliance against him from Daura to Maiduguri to Lagos to Washington DC. They were out to destroy him if he proved stubborn. |

This is the part that I wonder if people do not know happened or they just do not care. He may not have looted it per say, but I think he mismanaged it alongside our amiable madam NOI. For the records, I do not think NOI stole, I prefer to use the word mismanaged. You can mismanage without neccessarily stealing. garykoeman: |

9jatriot:Whatever the case, if GEJ became president tomorrow he would never work with NOI, the 5th columnist again. |

9jatriot:Because her role in GEJ govt was that of a 5th columnist. Even the slow GEJ would have realised this by now. |

gidgiddy:Ojukwu Broke the Aburi accord All the rest is propaganda Gowon issued Decree 8 of 1967 to implement Aburi and Ojukwu rejected it This is the letter that the US Govt Dept of State sent to their US Embassy in Nigeria after they had gone through Gowons decree 8. They US Govt thought it was so good that they assumed that the Civil War had been avoided They didn't know that Ojukwu had a different agenda and wanted to takeover all the Oil fields and Lands of the Niger Delta and even Lagos. Oya which lie una go tell again since the US Govt had completely exposed the Aburi lies?

christistruth01:Of what use is Decree 8 to Ojukwu and the Eastern Region if Gowon would come back a few weeks later to enact Decree 14 that would abolish the Eastern Region its self, and all other Regions, and replace them with 12 new states?
|
| Re: If Good Luck Jonathan Had A Spine, We Won't Be Where We Are Today Agree Or Not by christistruth01: 6:14pm On Jun 23 |
gidgiddy:That was after Ojukwu had already rejected Gowons Decree 8 implementing the Aburi Accord and had seized all the FG Property and Revenues in the East |
| Re: If Good Luck Jonathan Had A Spine, We Won't Be Where We Are Today Agree Or Not by gidgiddy: 8:31am On Jun 24 |
christistruth01:Ojukwu can't sieze Federal government property, there is no way he can convert the titles to property to Eastern Region property. What Ojukwu took was the revenue due to the East. But be that as it may, why would Gowon decide to abolish 4 Regions over what happened in one Region? Thats dictatorship and against what was agreed at Aburi. You people are just laughable. First you say Nigeria should be restructured so that every Region should control their resources. Then when Ojukwu takes over the resources of the East, you guys support Gowon to abolish the Regions and end resource control Now after fighting civil war and killing millions so that Gowon and his fellow Northern cohorts can have control of Nigeria, where is your Nigeria today? We should have conducted referendum and all gone our seperate ways a long time ago, Nigeria has never worked, will never work, and is a complete waste of time. |
| Re: If Good Luck Jonathan Had A Spine, We Won't Be Where We Are Today Agree Or Not by lawani(m): 9:02am On Jun 24 |
gidgiddy:The independence constitution allows the grant of autonomy to any group asking for it which means the creation of more states Aburi is not Nigeria's national assembly. Whatever was agreed upon there can't be forever binding on Nigeria or do you think it should? Then what do you think is the way forward now?. What I don't support about the Aburi accord is the idea that new states must not be created because up till today, Nigerians are still asking for more states to be created. What is the way forward? Ojukwu should have asked for a referendum before state creation and the civil war may have been prevented unless he found another reason to go to war |
