The Presidency has denied reports suggesting that President Bola Tinubu promised to provide uninterrupted electricity to all Nigerians during his 2023 presidential campaign. Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga said claims that Tinubu guaranteed 24-hour power supply across the country were inaccurate and had been taken out of context. According to him, the President's campaign promise was focused on improving electricity supply and ending the practice of estimated billing, rather than assuring round-the-clock power for every Nigerian. Onanuga explained that Tinubu had pledged to make electricity more available and ensure consumers were no longer subjected to estimated billing. He also recalled that the then-presidential candidate told Nigerians they should not vote for him for a second term if he failed to fulfill his promises and could not provide a convincing explanation for the delay. The clarification comes amid ongoing discussions about the state of electricity supply in the country and whether the current administration has lived up to expectations in the power sector. |

It is shameful that after 11 years of the APC being in power, they are shying away from a responsibility they asked to be placed on them. If we voted the PDP out for malicious incompetence, why shouldn't same be done to the APC as well? The APC has not improved a single thing beyond road construction. |

Dogalmighty17:SHUT UP. Students from poor homes are now getting loans to pay for university education for the first time in Nigerian history. The fuel queues are gone, and the state governments have had their monthly allocation increased by X7 since Tinubu came to power, which is why they are witnessing an UNPRECEDENTED infrastructural revolution as we speak. SO DON'T COME IN HERE AND LIE, OKAY? |

Kushites:You are a clown. Fuel queues disappeared under Buhari. Even before him, Jonathan was already solving that. You also talk about increased allocations. With a devalued naira, how much are those allocations truly worth? It is funny isn't it that with increased allocations, the poverty index is worse than it has ever been in the history of this country, maternal mortality and out of school children are at the highest levels ever and insecurity is on the increase. The loans for university education is not the flex you think it is. If it was, has the number of university entrants increased? No! Students were already capable of paying for themselves. What your senile principal has done was borrowing from the future of these students to pay for the increased earnings of university staff. Has he solved power? Has he created an enabling environment for industries to thrive? Hell no! So where are the graduates who collected these loans going to work to pay back? I laugh at you that after scraping the bottom of the pot, student loans, fuel queue absence and increased allocations to states are all you can pitifully put out in defence of your principal. I know it, you know it. This government is a failure. You have earn your daily stipends though and I understand. It is not easy defending a failure. |
