Meanwhile, just so you know, bride price can actually be adjusted to your financial capacity if you're not marrying into a Hungry and sha__me-less family.

Cow is not included in bride list items, but he will still buy it for the bride family and get the hall for the event. He will also buy matching clothes for bride parent. These are traditions in Yoruba land. If the bride family are rich,they can forgone it on their side but if they are not, he will pay for all the expenses of the wedding on bride family.

I think that buying of matching clothes for parents is general. We have that in most Edo tribes too.

Na family wey go easy on the groom naim dem dey buy goat for on for Christmas.

It is very cheap except for that cow.
It is a Yoruba family,we Yorubas don't believe in selling our daughters in the name of bride price.

Mr stop talking thrash! In Yoruba land the wifes side spend more on all these things, they are basically the ones that takes care of the reception of course the husband can assist. I bet you are probably not a Yoruba man or your are from a greedy family that doesn't follow the true Yoruba tradition.

Very cheap except for the cow, abi? Maybe dem go thief the cow. There’s nothing cheap about what I am seeing up there. I married from Owerri, in the east, and I don’t believe I spent up to half of what is on that list. Btw, marriage list and rites depends on the bride’s family. No matter what the community set as whatever list, the bride’s family has the final say. There’s always a way of waving certain things aside.

You are not selling your daughter, now tell me what cow and goat are doing in that list, let us be honest to ourselves, you don't use tradition as an excuse, this is what the white men called "trade by barter". Understand my point, I'm not saying you should give out your daughter free, but telling me that the list is not for the exchange of the lady is a big lie. What now happened if the guy is not able to pay for the items in that list?
