Kikelomogbenga:
If Ronaldo was from Panama he would be a fisherman.
So how did George Weah win Ballon d’Or in 1995? He was born in the trenches of Monrovia.

If we follow your logic to conclusion, Weah should have been an Okada rider.

How many players like George Weah have come out of Libya since then?

The probability of Ronaldo becoming a fisherman rather than a footballer if he had been born in Panama is 100 to 1.

Na so

Even some the goal keepers and defenders of those days were mid

Players were spamming goals from outside the box

Defenders would afford attackers space to dribble you 100 times

Only few we rugged and it's was mostly unnecessary and dangerous tackles that the players gets sent off or carded for
Anyone telling you football was a war or a battlefield in the past is selling you premium Lamba.

You are missing the point.

Football talent is distributed across the planet, but opportunity is not. Whether a player gets a realistic chance to win a World Cup depends critically on:

- Where their mother gave birth.
- The strength, infrastructure, coaching, and resources of the country’s football federation.
- The Squad Depth.

Club football gives football talents more mobility. Even if a player is born in the trenches of Ajegunle, club scouts would find him and get him a transfer to play in big clubs that can win things. International football does not allow such an elbow room. Club football offers a clearer merit-based escape hatch.

If you were born in India, you will not smell a World Cup tournament even if you score 1000 goals every season in your club. Look at Erling Haaland for instance. It’s his first international football tournament at 25. If he was born in France or Argentina, he would have won a WC or Copa America or Euros by age 19 at the very least.

When Sir Alex rated the CL over the Worldcup, people came out in droves to attack his opinion as being absurd.

He wasnt wrong TBH

Akpororo always turns to a different beast under ancelotti. With this form he can help propel Brazil deep into the competition

It was compared to now, Many of the tackles that were legit before have been banned now. Players like Paolo Montero would be banned if they were active today

CL football is infinitely better quality wise.

The WC holds more prestige(Old Glory) because we only see it once in 4 years.

That one too far sef

Viera vs Roy Keane battle.

If them allow pre-match meetings between the two like it is done in boxing, teeth go definitely comot.

I remember one viral clip that had Maldini scolding and preventing Gattuso from beating up an opponent (i think it was against Juve).

I still maintain that football no sweet again

The country you are born in also plays a major role in whether top clubs even notice you and whether you get access to elite leagues. If Ronaldo had been born in Panama instead of Brazil and still became a footballer, chances are he would have spent years grinding through lower divisions before getting a shot at the top if he made it there at all.

You were the one acting as if being Brazilian had no impact on his club career, when in reality Brazils footballing reputation and scouting network gave him opportunities that players from less prominent football nations rarely get.

Haaland was born in England.

A40:
Indomie generation talking about YouTube grin
For Ronaldo, Ronaldinho etc. Players we saw live

Ronaldinho was the foundation block for the modern Barcelona today. Anyone that was not a infant in 2005 knows this.

Declan Rice to Ronaldinho? You don't know about ball at all. Stop embarrassing yourself

Vini plays closer to goal and has never scored more than 17 goals in La Liga. Ronaldinho has a 21 goal season. You have no argument at all.

Akpororo Jr's goal scoring record as a forward is actually very poor no matter how you slice it. Fernando Hierro a defender even Sergio Ramos score better than him

Ronaldinho won the CL as Barcelona top scorer was the best player in the competition and led the entire Champions League in assist. Show me the year Akpororo Jr achieved any of this.

When has Akpororo Jr ever led La Liga or Champions League in goals and or assist like Ronaldinho

This is why I call you indomie generation. You did not watch Barcelona vs Benfica 06 Quarterfinals so how would you know Ronaldinho scored in that match.

2002 World Cup I'm not sure you were born. That's why you would not know the contributions of a man that led Brazil back from looming defeat against England.

At 22 years old Ronaldinho had 2 goals and 3 assists at the World Cup. MOTM performance against England.

At 22 years old Akpororo Jr 1 goal 2 assists. Zero impact. Jabo for quarterfinal and yanked off early in the second half after putting an absolute stinker

10 goals in 51 apps says just how mid Akpororo Jr is. In the olden days when Brazil was still Brazil Akpororo Jr will not even see shirt

If you want to talk about giving free ride talk about how Benzema carried Madrid to the CL title in 2022 scoring 15 goals to Akpororo's 4
grinThat CAPAddict guy issa major concern. His takes always sound like pure hate or early dementia. Him and Drisham must be Gen Z. I’ve literally seen Gen Z rate Benzema over R9, and another claim TuFace just blew 2years ago! The ignorance is lucid. It’s like comparing a UNILAG First Class student today to a First Class graduate from the 70s/90s who had a slightly lower CGPA, completely ignoring how much harder conditions and materials were back then.

SMH.

What about

-George Weah
-Pavel Nedved
-Hristo Stoichkov
-Andriy Schevchenko

All these players(Ballon d’Or winners) were born in the trenches of obscure countries but because of club football, they are all global icons today.

Being born in a big football country definitely helps but it doesn’t close the door completely for players born in small football countries to feature for top club sides.

[quote author=Illimitable post=139820897]Which of these players was 20 years of age?

At 20, CR7 scored 9 goals in 50 apps
At 20, LM10 scored 16 goals in 40 apps

Your best players in this era couldn’t clean R9’s boots at 20. [/quote
Neymar scored 43 sha
Mbappe scored 39

For one of those players you mentioned they might be 100 like them that didn't make it to the top leagues.
