Recurrent malaria every month in a 9-month-old is not normal and needs further investigation. It may be re-infection from the environment, wrong diagnosis, anemia, or exposure to mosquitoes at home. Please ensure malaria is confirmed with a TEST. each time before treatment, and that DOSAGE is weight-appropriate. Repeated artemisinin treatment without reviewing the root cause is not ideal. I would strongly advise against herbal treatment for a baby, as it is unsafe and I feel it can damage the liver and kidneys as am not a medical practitioner ooo. But If your current hospital is affected by strike or you’re not satisfied with care, it’s best to visit another hospital or see a different pediatrician for a full review, including blood tests and environmental assessment. Good morning house, please my baby of 4 months is having a dry cough. We have given her azithromycin suspension and coflax cough syrup but the cough still persist. Please can anyone help on how to treat it please, thanks |

Mandela89:Infants don't normally need drugs to fight cough. Cough is a natural way their body is getting use to the environment and removing any residual foreign bodies in their system. Just do your best in taking care of the baby. |

Morning!! Please what is the solution to skin irritation like heat rashes on my newborn, 5 months old. It’s spreading from his face to all part of his abdominal region. |

Gwan2:Have you tried sudocream? If yes and it didn't clear them, then see his paed for a prescription. Meanwhile, you may have to observe his triggers and remove those irritants from his routine, it could be a type of cloth, water, or something that is applied to his skin. I personally try to stick with palm kernel/coconut oil or Shea butter for my newborns. I hope it clears soon |

Good morning great mums and dads. My son going to 4y having swollen left cheek to the ear side, we have used different types of anti biotic drugs. Even taken him to health centre near us they gave him some injections for about 3days and some drugs. The problem is that it will go for sometime and swollen again after some days. Lest I forgot some even prescribed white vitamin C and even 10 keys. All to no avail. |

Hello DoveofPeace:Hope that is not mumps. Why not take the child to see a proper pediatrician in general hospital or any standard hospital |

angeltolly:Thanks great mum, I just don't know but some people call it "segede" in our yoruba dialect. Now, they prescribed another thing to use which we are observing its outcome presently. Thanks once again |

DoveofPeace:That is mump. It’s a viral infection I think. Did your child get the MMR vaccine as a baby? Please watch it well, it can be uncomfortable for children and I heard it may affect fertility in male if prolonged or left unattended to. It is well with him |

Yes, they gave him different vaccines in baby which I can't say what you mentioned is one of it. Thank God it's getting better as at now. Thanks so much for your concerns and inputs. |

Pls who has had their newborn at 3.8kg via vaginal birth. I’d really like to try natural birth but the size of the baby is kinda scaring me. |

DoveofPeace:Take that boy to see a pediatrician please. A poorly treated mumps can affect fertility, especially in males, later in life. It can affect few other organs too. Get him properly treated by a pediatrician. Regards to him and all yours. |

Morrewhunmie:whoever has given birth to 3.8 via vaginal birth definitely isn't you. Their bodies and yours are different. Some can do even 4.0 while 3.5 might be too big for others. Follow your OBGYN advice. If s/he prescribes CS, accept it without thinking twice. That's simply the best for you. God gave man the knowledge of CS for a reason. The goal is a happy mother healthy baby, healthy father, happy doctor. I wish you a safe delivery. |

Good day, everyone. I sincerely apologize if this post is slightly off-topic. I've been following this thread for a while, and I've come to appreciate how supportive and kind many members are. I'm a married father based in Abuja and currently seeking employment. I hold a Bachelor's degree, have completed my NYSC, and have previous work experience in customer service and administration. I am open to administrative, customer service, office support, operations, or other suitable roles. If anyone here knows of any genuine job openings or can refer me to an employer in Abuja (or a remote role), I would be sincerely grateful. I can send my CV privately upon request. Thank you very much for your understanding, and I pray God blesses everyone here and your beautiful families |
