You are very right. The Kanuri are not against breaking away but are only remaining in Nigeria because of the allocation they receive and they can do without it as their VAT and CIT isn't bad. If you leave Borno to its own devices it will be under Boko Haram and that's not bad if it is what they want

It is possible that few of the "repentant " terrorists who were primarily coerced into joining BH may be willing to live better lives. However, they should be rehabilitated by learning skills that will make them independent.

Working alongside the military isn't wise. It will open them up to temptations from their former colleagues especially in terms of intel. We've heard too many stories of soldiers getting killed this way. We can't continue to sacrifice our soldiers to please heartless terrorists.

This is once again a failure of the judiciary!
How can a criminal be declared repentant and acquitted by a programme sponsored by the executive arm of government?
No matter how repentant the terrorists are,they still need to be prosecuted and sentenced to prison for the crimes they have committed!
Some people may claim most of the some of the terrorists were indorinated.
However,ignorance of the law doesn't exempt you from the consequences!
This operation safe corridor has proven to be a waste of funds as most of the so called repentant terrorists have gone back to their old ways.

The civilian leadership of Nigeria needs to be careful. You cannot force men who have watched colleagues die because of the activities of terrorists, to now serve alongside the same terrorists just because they say they've repented.

My one and only question is why did the state government not turn the repentant militants to farmers? Why didn't they send them to go and farm? Why send terrorists (repentant) to go and join the Military to have access to federal Military information and plans, why send terrorists to Military so that they can intercept radio communications and kill more generals like that general that the radio/WhatsApp communication was intercepted and terrorists located his position and killed him?
