The woman should calm down, it may be network issue, I just open my baxi mobile app now. Baxi is CBN registered fintech company in Nigeria.

This is a video of an agitated woman filming herself and a crowd outside a Baxi building, repeatedly shouting "Baxi is gone" in distress over inaccessible funds and services.

Baxi is a licensed fintech super-agent network owned by Onafriq, providing POS terminals and payment solutions in Nigeria since its acquisition in 2022, not an investment or Ponzi scheme.

Current transfer and withdrawal issues stem from reported technical glitches, triggering widespread user frustration in a country familiar with frequent Ponzi collapses and fintech outages.

About Baxi

Baxi is a prominent digital payment, agent banking, and distribution network in Nigeria (now part of Onafriq). It enables merchants and agents to process transactions, pay bills, and offer financial services to consumers.

Depending on your specific needs, the Baxi platform offers several distinct features and solutions:

Agent Banking & POS: Agents use Baxi POS machines (ranging from ₦10,000 to ₦80,000 depending on the model) to process transactions, transfer money, and earn commissions on local financial services.

Baxi Mobile App: An all-in-one platform for individuals to buy airtime/data, pay utility bills (electricity, TV subscriptions), and send or receive money.

Business Solutions: Provides merchants with payment aggregation, digital product distribution, and cross-border money transfer capabilities.
This same baxi made me my first 5million naira as a POS agent in Nigeria from 2019 to 2022. I was probably amongst the very few agent in dustse alhaji market Abuja before I left the country.. then the POS I was given was like a calculator connected from phone to pos Bluetooth device , it was not a straight forward process but I was patient I bought that shit for 5000 naira then .
Life is funny .

LOBATAN!

on a lighter note, baxi may be struggling with glitches and network related issues .

Madam should be calming down.

Let her not spread unnecessary fear among baxi users.

For the past one month I couldn’t make any transactions. I can’t pull my money out. You can only login and do Airtime transactions, but as of today the blocked even that.

Nothing works again, just to login and see your fund facing you. This is not a glitch thing. Baxi is going bankrupt.

The last they blocked is the airtime transfers after blocking data transactions.

must they use aws services? There are other cheaper options that are 3 to 5x cheaper than aws. AWS and Gcloud are premium providers and also armed rubbers when it comes to pricing.

No fintech can go with your money. They deposit a certain guarantee amount with the CBN and have insurance.

AWS billed them too much so CTO pulled the plug.
AWS billing isn't too much for a company that's making 10x of that fee monthly.

Why can't they have their own server though?

Why didn't you make serious inquiries?

Their agents are too lazy, exploitative and have lackadaisical attitudes.
I was new in the business then and I had to return the POS terminal and opted for MONIEPOINT
