VeryWickedMan:Born Again Christians did not slaughter anyone, that is the difference. There Repentance is to accept Christ as their Savior and begin to live a God-fearing Life. I am looking forward to seeing Born Again Muslims as well or don't they Repent in Islam? And where did you see Born Again Christians being reintegrated into the Nigerian Army? Where? Are you one of them Repentantees ![]() |

Have we ever sat back and ask the victims (who are still wallowing in IDP camps) how they feel? The person that has put me in harms way and has made my life a living hell is meant to walk free and giving a source of revenue, while I the victim is left to wallow in in the squalor that I was placed in not of my own volition? This stinks to high heavens. |

Oxb90:. If these terrorist had killed any of his relatives would he still be integrating them to work with the soldiers. Anyone sponsoring or sympathetic to these terrorist would see the full wrath of the terrorist. Thank God it's coming to every one of them gradually. |

The Government should be interrogated. This is actually a move to cause more insecurity. I pity who take this APC Government serious on the fight against insecurity. |

Mattswaggz:The Borno State Government is clearly caught between the need to do Jihad ie forceful propagation of Islam and the demand by a decent society for freedom of religion! They will, someday choke on their own vomit! |

Mattswaggz:It’s partly true — but the story splits into two claims that need to be separated: *1. What soldiers are saying* Soldiers told SaharaReporters: - They’re “uncomfortable” because past intel leaks compromised operations - Some claim recent deadly attacks were due to “repentant” terrorists leaking strategy to Boko Haram - Troops say they now sleep separately and don’t trust the ex-fighters So yes, _some frontline soldiers have voiced rejection/fear_ about working with reintegrated ex-insurgents. *2. What the military/Defence HQ says officially* Defence HQ and Operation Safe Corridor have repeatedly denied that ex-insurgents are recruited or deployed: - *Brig.-Gen. Yusuf Ali*, Coordinator of Operation Safe Corridor: “At no point are participants armed, mobilised, or deployed for combat operations”. The programme is “non-kinetic” — deradicalisation + reintegration only. - DHQ: “Once you have any criminal record, you cannot join the military or any security agency”. - They say the viral video of “armed repentant terrorists” was not from their official camp in Mallam Sidi, Gombe, and some state-led DRR initiatives “operate independently”. *Bottom line* - *True*: Some soldiers have complained to media about a Borno govt move to attach reintegrated ex-Boko Haram to local security groups supporting operations. They fear sabotage. - Disputed/denied by DHQ*: The military says _Operation Safe Corridor_ does NOT arm or deploy ex-fighters with troops. They call the claims “false, misleading, and entirely unfounded”. So the “fresh move” soldiers reject appears to be a *state-level* attachment to vigilante/local security outfits, not formal recruitment into the Nigerian Army. DHQ insists no repentant terrorist is in the military or used in combat. |

Bluearrow:No They actually can if they take their VAT and CIT by themselves and are not paying any debt to anybody The Boko Haram are actually violently agitating for secession and they are the most prominent of all groups doing that. |

Which kind hradline is these? The body says something else the headline says another, and those who don't read will start comment has usual. They were no absolved into the military, they were reciuted into borno vigilantes and asked to work along with the nigeria Army, which the Army rejected. I think they believe once they swear with the Korean they become upright. Sometimes been educated as a Muslim only few separates religion from been educated in the North. That's why they will spend billions going to hajj than pumping it into education or helping the mass with learning skills. To them religion is number 1 others are number99 |

frankson1:Supporting nonsense has made you not to remember that, your tinibu is the commander in chief of the armed forces. What this means is that as the commander in chief, he knows about the negotiations and the reintegration of the terrorists in the country. Next time reason very well before you comment. |

Bornu state Governor should remove his present security network and employ the repentant terrorist to safe guard is life. |

It is only God that can forgive whoever came out with the term "repentant terrorist". Terrorists are not average criminals. They are naturally driven by extreme ideals. They are better off dead than captured. This government is getting it completely wrong and is the number one suspect of the flourishing business of terrorists in this country. And to think someone brings the idea of making them join the military? God! Did I just read that? You are indirectly telling us that the comrades that have lost their lives on the front lines died for nothing. You are inviting soldiers to hijack your government. |

lawani:Please don't make me laugh at bold When has boko haram openly campaigned for secession?? These guys are after radical Islamization of the country, not secession. Mind u if the North were capable of taking care of themselves from the onset without depending on revenue from the South, British wouldn't have merge Southern & Northern protectorate in the first place. It is a fundamental problem, the North has always relied on the South for sustenance. |
| Re: Nigerian Soldiers Reject Fresh Move To Deploy ‘repentant’ Terrorists In Military by lawani(m): 4:11pm On Jun 26 |
Bluearrow:You are talking about some politicians in the North. The Boko Haram are actually radicals who don't care about your oil money. They have more revenue than the government of Borno state |
