I Am Ashamed’ – Joe Igbokwe Reacts To Backlash On Remi Tinubu’s Viral Advice by ogododo(op): 2:21pm On Jun 27
Joe Igbokwe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, says he is filled with shame following the attacks on President Bola Tinubu’s wife, Remi Tinubu by netizens over a recent viral video.

DAILY POST reports that the social media has been flooded with reactions from Nigerian youths venting their anger following the First Lady’s controversial petty trade advice in the viral footage.

Remi had at an event advised Nigerians to set up small and medium businesses, stating that frying Akara for commercial purposes is not difficult.

The advice, however, didn’t go down well with netizens, who took to their social media handles to blast the First Lady for failing to create jobs for the unemployed youths.

Reacting to the backlash, Igbokwe in a post on his Facebook page on Saturday, slammed the netizens, wondering why the First Lady is being attacked over honest advice.

He wrote, “This generation frightens me to the marrows. An honest advice HE Oluremi Tinubu gave to young Nigerians on how to help themselves has become a tool to abuse and to pour invectives.

Social Media has become a tool to unleash scurrilous drivels even when the truth is spoken.

“We will learn las las. See the empty heads and headless mobs dancing naked in the public space left and right. Awon werey everywhere. Shame has enveloped me”.

With all due respect, sir, leadership should desire the same standard for the public as they do for their own families. If this is lucrative and honorable advice for Nigeria's unemployed youth, we should see the children of public officials leading by example and setting up these petty trades after graduation, rather than occupying secure corporate or government roles. It was only a few days ago that Akpabio denied that his children were not in NNPC, why wasn't he happy to show us their Akara and agbado business? 🤡

Joe, if you want slaves, just say it, at least you're being honest. How many of your own sisters, daughters or in laws are frying Akara? How many of Tinubu's daughters are doing that?

Sir, if this advice is so excellent, let the government launch an empowerment scheme where the children of APC chieftains take the lead in frying Akara on the streets. If it isn't good enough for your children, do not get angry when other people's children reject it.

An elder who gives useless advice only has his or herself to blame. Since that woman washed Adeyemi for Senate, na Nigerian people I blame for not seeing the signs or seeing the signs and ignoring g them

People are given grants 100k,200k...whatever. so you expect them to be advised to open a refinery or a beer factory? Or is it that AKara enterprise is so base that being employed is better? I'm honestly checking comments amongst my close circles on this subject to identify how sound people are.
Thumbs up Joe.
