Portable Blasts Ycee Over Peller Comment: “When You Were Reigning, You Didn’t Blame Anybody”

Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has fired back at rapper Ycee following Ycee’s recent comments about content creator Peller and the current state of the entertainment industry.

Reacting in a viral video, Portable accused Ycee of chasing clout and attempting to shift responsibility for his career struggles. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

According to Portable:

The time when Ycee was reigning, he didn’t blame another man. But now that his life is bitter, he’s now blaming Peller. You wey go school, wetin you use your money do? How many cars you get? Anytime they want to trend, they chase clout.

The comments come after Ycee’s remarks during the ongoing online debate surrounding Peller’s influence on the entertainment industry, a discussion that has divided opinions among fans and celebrities.

Portable’s response has since gone viral, with social media users taking sides. While some agreed with his view that artists should take responsibility for their careers, others defended Ycee, arguing that he was expressing a broader concern about the direction of the industry rather than attacking any individual.

The exchange has added another chapter to the growing conversation about fame, relevance, and the impact of social media personalities on Nigeria’s entertainment scene.

What do you think?

Do you agree with Portable that Ycee is chasing clout, or do you believe Ycee raised a valid point about the entertainment industry?

The bank of industry is a major culprit in this OLOSHO/OLODO UPRISING brouhaha. Let them make public how they have supported the business ideas of young aspiring talented nigerian graduates with entrepreneurial skills! You have to know someone who knows someone who knows someone to access any loan bro the bank of industry or bank of agriculture. That's absolutely insane.

What do you expect from the royal King of olodo uprising. It is crazy how social media has change everyone focus and so many distraction and noise. YouTube use to be educational now skit and others. Well internet is harmless but what you do with it.
The noisy get the ovation while the educational get the least ovation. Even Nairaland has followed the trend

Make I also shook mouth about this matter here, safe. I have been reading the dragging on other social media

Education is actually overrated. It's a new form of modern slavery, time wastage

At the same time, acquiring enough knowledge about things required one form of education

Both primary and secondary basic education should be converted to something like technical schools where as the students are learning education, they are also learning how to do things , electricians, Pa position, clerks, hair dressing, basic car repairing, it's all forms of technical education.

Some professors can't even near some places where Peller can go. There should be a rethink about this

Rich man is talking, yet you are claiming you have an idea, my friend turn your idea to money

I think many of us have forgotten the "who e epp" era. This olodo thing is making me remember my post of last week. Shorts has not helped us in anyway, it has reduced elasticity of the brain to microwave

No need to mention Fela. Even Sonny Okosun sang songs that were meaningful

Wind of change (1990), African Soldier (1991) and one like that he sang to bring different religions and tribe together. I forget the title now

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-0MJ0h02tA

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yn6FJuKprZY

👆 Listen to these Sonny Okosun songs and tell me if he is still not speaking to government today

What I can now say is that the 90s had more inspirational and influential songs, the artistes cared more about the society so they used their lyrics and songs to change the society. Though this started from late 70s, the 2000s were more conscious of themselves and material things so songs started losing meaning from that era. Your oppressors in government are today dancing with you to nonsensical music that has no message and no reminders. Dem no born them well back then to dance to the songs that reminded them of what they have not done. 90s was the end of it IMO. Children today don't even have any inspirational child friendly songs, they now shake their yansh from age 4 embarassed

Late 2000s that was influential. It was the period of Plantashun Boiz but our artistes were mimicking the US artistes. Only KUSH's song had meaning here because I think they released after the riot in Jos or Kaduna, I can't really remember but it was a riot in Northern Nigeria. Anyone who remembers can correct me
