Blades of the Guardians is a solid 7/10 for me
Wonderful sword fights and it's strange that my favourite scene is the sword fight that involved Jet li.
Even though it was a brief cameo, i was glad that he fought like a master and they respected his screen legacy and was only taken down because someone had to sacrifice himself.

Good plot by the way, a total enjoyable watch all through.

mortal Kombat part 2 is a solid 6/10 for me.
On a personal note, i feel like they haven't really done justice to the mortal Kombat franchise as regards to live in action.
One of the most famous video games on earth in history while growing up cannot be having these mediocre and shittty movies.

Take a look at series like the game of thrones, avatar and co.

Maybe a giant network like HBO or Amazon can take over and turn this franchise into a high budgeted three season series with good plots, storyline, cinematography, fight scenes with a bit of horror and supernatural etc.

Mortal Kombat needs rebranding.

What we have so far doesn't give the franchise the legacy it deserves.

Is GOD is, is a solid 7.5/10 for me.
Disturbing, weird and sick in a way.
I don't think this movie is for everyone though, especially to those that are picture sensitive.

Anyways it's a good watch with a sick plot, not very comfortable with the plot especially the burning of the kids but it is what it is.

Obsessed is a solid 8/10 for me.
A romantic and adult theme k drama that defines the concept of foolishness disguised as love.

To some people, the man was in love and died still loving a another man's wife but to me, the man was a fool that died like a fool while the rest of the world moved on.
I am of the opinion that even his own wife is even more beautiful.
This movie is a romantic and intensed slow thrill with to be honest, captivating sexxxx scenes.
One of the k dramas with raw sexxx scenes.

The only time you come out gun blazing is when you feel there is a DC movie that will not perform well at the cinema, or when a Marvel movie perform well... It's as if that's your sole purpose in life, Marvel VS DC.

I watched it and tbh while it was decent, I didn't like the changes they made from the anime.

The anime was just far better in everything...

"Aftersun" (2022)

There are some films everyone is convinced are good, but you just aren't seeing it. You're left wondering, what am I missing? This is definitely one of those.

I first saw this when it came out in 2022, on a very tiring evening whilst working a crazy 9-to-5, and I just couldn't get it. A young father goes on what looks like an enjoyable vacation with his daughter and records it on a camcorder... like, big puff! Am I supposed to be impressed?

I watched it again this week with a calm head and sharper eyes, and I realised what a good watch it was but, in perspective, an extremely sad one. 😩

The film is one of the most subtle films ever made. You actually have to be vigilant to notice the story the filmmaker intends to tell. It genuinely feels like nothing happened, but a lot actually happened.

Calum, a very young father in his 30s, goes to a Turkish resort on vacation with his young daughter, Sophie, just like I first saw it. On the surface, it's a lovely holiday because most of the film is from Sophie's POV. But then I began to notice the meditation and tai chi books, Calum seemingly crying out of nowhere, the unexplained arm injury (suggesting self-harm), Sophie organising a flash mob to sing Happy Birthday to her dad only for him to stand there completely dishevelled.

The biggest giveaway was when Callum said he wasn't sure he was going to make it to 40 😩😮‍💨


Then it clicked.

Whilst Sophie was having the time of her life, Calum was quietly battling mental illness and slowly coming to terms with the possibility that this might actually be the last time he ever sees his daughter. The final scene offers no hope. Calum records Sophie as she returns home, happy after spending time with her beloved father, whilst he simply walks off into a dark abyss, suggesting he probably topped himself. 😔

The cinematography was just peak filmmaking. The use of colour tells the whole story. In scenes with Sophie, everything is bright and warm, but whenever Callum is alone, the palette shifts into darker shades... just brilliant.

Paul Mescal might be custom built for sad, depressing roles like this, he just nails it... reminds me of Joaquin Phoenix when he wasn't a huge reluctant

Difficult difficult recommend it's far too niche and also because of how bleak it is.

But it's a top-shelf film.

8/10.
