Akara Economy: Can ₦50k Start Akara Business? See Breakdown by Authority1o1(op): 3:18pm On Jun 28
The debate as to whether the ₦50,000 empowerment made by Remi Tinubu, Nigeria's First Lady, is simply based on a realistic economic calculation and the acknowledgement of the existence of lower class will not end if a breakdown is not given.

So, what can such an amount afford for someone who wants to really go into akara business?

Here is a breakdown:

1. Gas cylinder (3kg): ₦25,000
2. Cooking gas (3kg): ₦1900 × 3 = ₦5700
3. 1 painter of white beans (depending on the location): approximately ₦5000
4. Groundnut oil (2 litres): approximately ₦4500
5. Medium-size frying pan: ₦11,000
6. Utensils and containers: ₦10,000
7. Ingredients (pepper, salt, Maggi etc): ₦2000
8. Beans grinding cost: say ₦500 per round.

TOTAL: ₦63,700

VERDICT: Even for low income earners, ₦50,000 is insufficient to start akara business.

Total and complete nonsense.

Every one of us have seen it before. Even those who have not seen it face to face have seen it before.

Politicians go there to eat every election season, in order to identify with the people and the photos and videos are everywhere. Everybody knows this.

That's why I don't take the people that talk about gas cylinder and paid place and bag of beans seriously. They are not serious people so they shouldn't be taken seriously.

Just like the people that talk about government money. Those ones will entertain me tomorrow.

Look below, do you see any gas cylinder or paid place or bag of beans? These people are just entertainers and their only purpose is to entertain me.

The trolls are arguing against Mrs Tinubu's action not because there's anything wrong with it, but because they have to.

Every single one of their arguments is nonsense and laughable.

Due to the fact that they are arguing just for argument sake, they are saying a lot of things out of complete and total ignorance. What are the things that they are saying? I'm going to list them so that sensible people can laugh:

⚫️ Akara, corn and kulikuli

These people act as if the only thing that Mrs Tinubu said was akara, corn and kulikuli. They didn't hear about the ICT traning, they didn't hear about the scholarships, they didn't hear about the business training.

⚫️ ₦50,000

They act as if all Mrs Tinubu is giving to beneficiaries is ₦50,000. The ₦100,000 grant does not exist? The ₦150,000 grant does not exist? The ₦200,000 grant does not exist?

⚫️ It's government money

Do they do charity with government money?

Anyway, I'll address all these things tomorrow.

"Tinubu appropriated billions of naira to an agency his government claims does not exist" - Channels News

Me: What a government of criminals! And their supporters want us to celebrate the N50K grant Mrs Tinubu has offered poor Nigerians for Akara and Kuli kuli business after they have stolen billions and trillions for their own family? You can't support Tinubu and not be made to look like an idiot at the end of it all.

I feel Nigerians took the First lady's comments out of context and we know those behind it.. they hate anything Yoruba and will go any length to slander the President.

We shouldn't forget that not everyone is skilled (graduate), some are semi-skilled while others are unskilled workers. I feel the First lady's comment was for the unskilled to make a living for themselves.

That's a potential value chain with great prospect.. beans farming, processing and grinding of beans, those who make the akara and those who make kulikuli (has potential for export).
Our people have become too foolish and we just hurry to criticize any thing.

Shey aye gbogbo yin fe baje ni? The other day the same first lady donated luxury cars to APC women leaders across different states. Why didn't she tell those one to go and start frying akara and roasted corn? Must you all defend all their gaffes ?

As we draw closer to the next election, the agenda seems to be making people comfortable with poverty.

One day they'll tell you how a family enjoyed a ₦2,000 breakfast of pap and moin-moin. The next day they'll insist the hardship in the US and UK is no different from what's happening in Nigeria.

Now they've added a new sermon to the playlist: the gospel of àkàrà, kulikuli, and roasted corn. 😁

The rate of deterioration is alarming. Even if Tinubu contests as the only candidate, on the only party ticket, he might still lose.

Sentiments against him are boiling over, yet he remains heavy-handed with the opposition, Sowore in prison, El-Rufai hunted, critics silenced daily.

Meanwhile, insurgents are slaughtering 4-star generals like chickens. We are not at war, but we are losing top military officers to civilians. This level of insecurity is unprecedented in Nigeria’s history.

Inflation is choking us, wages are insulting, corrupt governors are protected, petrol prices are unhinged, and opposition parties are being witch-hunted.The entire country is in free fall.

Yet Remi Tinubu, is telling us to start roasting corn,I wonder what her and her husbands obsession/Fetish with corn is ?
