The scheme was basically to created to generate manpower for areas which didn't have it after the war. Today the southerners who ran away during the war have seen their children return to serve and live in places where their kinsmen where murdered in cold blood. Without the NYSC Nigeria wouldn't have seen the high number of youths living outside their zones especially youths from the south east. NYSC is a post Civil War measure to promote youth integration and interaction. All the other objectives like using it as a launch pad for compulsory military service is a ploy.

Don't be quick to react. The item I quoted is what I think is needless. Keeping hundreds of youths for three weeks is a herculean task talk more of 6 weeks. The youths in question are civilians and not prospective military recruits so applying full military ethics on them in camp to keep them loyal is near impossible. Have you not heard of near riots in camps due to activities in camp. You mustn't support everything Tinubu's administration throws up. Try to interrogate them.

- The first two weeks will focus on civic responsibility, national values, and leadership development.
- The next two weeks will cover career mapping, financial literacy, business planning, and access to finance.
- The final two weeks will provide specialised training based on each corps member’s chosen career stream.

Under the new framework, corps members will select one of the newly created 11 specialised streams upon registration and will receive specialised training throughout the orientation programme in preparation for future employment and national service.

The 11 specialised streams are: Agric Corps, Medical Corps, Education Corps, Tech and Digital Corps, Legal Corps, Public Service Corps, Infrastructure Corps, Green Corps, Enterprise Corps, Creative Economy Corps, and Paramilitary and Security Corps.

She added that the specialised streams will equip graduates with practical skills tailored to their academic backgrounds, career interests, and the country’s workforce needs.

ASUU has refused to revamp and refocus the University curriculum, if he insisted, ASUU will commence industrial action, and since many of the internet warriors don’t even like him, they will just increase the tempo of his criticism.

In about 1 week now, we have State Police and NYSC Reform. That’s no small feat. Well, as for me, Obi wouldn’t have done a quarter of what BAT has achieved. I believe this fact is clear to him in his heart. May be Atiku could do as well too.
