Heavy rainfall has caused severe flooding in parts of Accra, Ghana, leaving homes, properties, and entire communities submerged.

Residents woke up to devastating scenes as floodwaters swept through neighbourhoods, entering houses and destroying belongings. For many families, what started as heavy rain quickly turned into a desperate fight for survival.

Footage from the affected areas shows the scale of the disaster, with some houses almost completely immersed in water. Some residents were filmed trying to find their way through the flood, with the water rising dangerously high around them.

In one heartbreaking moment, a woman’s voice can be heard calling for rescue teams, saying that people are trapped and dying inside their rooms as the floodwater has taken over their homes.

The situation has left many residents stranded, displaced, and uncertain about what comes next as they struggle to protect their lives and recover from the damage.

The flooding has once again raised concerns about drainage systems, emergency response, and the growing impact of extreme weather on communities.

Flooding is a natural disaster and even countries with well drainage system still experience it once in a while, sometimes it could be a flash flood.

Everything you mentioned asides climate change- to an extent are man made activities therefore not a natural disaster!
