2027: They’re Using PMP To Block NDC Participation – Umeh by SlavaUkraini(op): 7:27am On Jun 30
The lawmaker representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Victor Umeh, says the Peace Movement Party, PMP, is being used to block the participation of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, in the 2027 general elections.

Umeh made this allegation on Monday when he appeared as a guest in an interview on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’.

He maintained that the victory-sign logo is a global symbol, stating that it does not belong to the PMP.

PMP is being used to block the NDC’s participation in the 2027 Elelection.

“When Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and some of us joined the NDC on May 3, the very next day, May 4, an application was filed seeking to set aside the party’s registration, even though the NDC had already been registered for about five months.

The logo does not belong to the PMP because it is not a registered political party. A symbol only becomes exclusive to a party once it is registered with INEC as part of that party’s official registration.

“After that, no other political party can use it because it legally belongs to the registered party,” he said.

Recall that a Federal High Court in Lokoja, Kogi State, set aside its earlier judgment directing the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to register the NDC as a political party.

These are the men who convinced Obi to leave the ADC against the advice of other experienced Southeastern politicians like Abaribe and Emeka Ihedioha. If you admit that Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu is hell-bent on preventing Obi from being on the ballot, what makes you think he will spare Obi for falling into his trap of isolating himself from the pack? The parable of a single broom stick vs the entire bunch comes to mind. Where are the likes of Aisha Yesufu, Serah, Tanko Yunusa and other campaign fund bandits today? They were very loud and loquacious in the ADC where they were treated with significant respect and a lot of concessions. Lessons!

Since your Atiku doesn't want to respect himself and the whole southerners because of the volume of our Treasury he looted and stashed, he doesn't deserve the mammoth support of a southerners followers.......

For Atiku to win, let Tinubu continue because even if NDC is denied participation in the election, we Obi supporters will go for a southern candidate of any of the participating political party or even VOTE TINUBU in the absence of any other candidate

Exactly. It is with this assurance that Tinubu will eventually disqualify Obi from the race. Although we know you all will eventually observe voter apathy on that day. It will be in your best interest to actually vote for Tinubu on that day than to abstain. Atiku has no pact with you. Ojukwu contested the 2007 elections after 8 years of Obasanjo. Did anybody ask him to step down? Is anyone more Southern than Ojukwu? Zoning remains a purely party affair and it is not in the ADC constitution. It will be far better for Obi to step down for a Southerner that is already in power, instead of splitting Southern votes.

Keep your advice to yourself because I know for sure that as personal interest is involved, you can hardly accept a new dimension

But the person you quoted is saying the truth. The truth that you know but refuse to accept. The same truth that brought tinubu to power in 2023 that we are all suffering now.

We are where we are now because of the desperation and lack of political insight of Obi.
