This is not necessary. They pay taxes and employ people. Start companies that will compete with them. As long as these companies match or exceed their quality, employees and revenues eventually flow from company SA to company NG. Nigerians will patronize who offers better quality and will naturally prefer NG products that match the quality of SA products. Let things remain capitalist and competitive. Introduce additional taxation if their headquarters are in SA and they pay most of their taxes abroad. If the SA owners send most of their personal income back to SA which means they’re not reinvesting profits on the country where they earned the money, that’s capital flight, tax them more. |

They can engage them to sell off their business and won't leave with the proceed like the UK did to Abrahimovich with Chelsea. All the workers will be retained while giving it to a capable hand. jerryunit48: |

Honestly, I just feel embittered whenever I remember how the then Nigerian Central Government and Nigerians at large stood by South Africa during the Apartheid Era. We were forced to donate part of the stipends we were getting as upkeep in Secondary School to the course of fighting Apartheid against the black South Africans. As the class captain, I was made to receive corporal punishment for not writing "APARTHEID IS A CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY" at the entrance of our classroom in solidarity with the same South Africans who are now doing the same. |

Instead of NANS to address the elephant in the room, that is, the drug traffickers bringing shame and ridicule to other Nigerians, they’re hiding behind one finger and playing to the gallery |

SA politicians, not businesses, should be targeted. Nigeria needs an agency while issues lawsuits and legal investigations on people who violate Nigerians abroad in their respective countries. As it stands, every banana republic understands that Nigerians are virtually unprotected by their government and therefore Nigerians are free targets for extortion and harassment. Their governments are also complicit and usually lead the charge. |

Skillsnigeria:This is also important to take note because these businesses hate the blacks in that country and deal with their stupidity the same way everyone else has to deal with their stupidity. Nigeria should their incentivize relocation by taxing them higher if they're not in the NSE, and/or headquartered in Nigeria. |

All the South African businesses in Nigeria employed Nigerians. We should not reason and behave like the south Africans we criticise. Rather I want the government to come out boldly and put restrictions on Nigerians going to South Africa, in fact they should put a ban on Nigerians going there. You can't treat an American citizen this way and get away with it. Anyway this is Tinubu's government, it doesn't concern him. Trust me, this is where we missed Musa Yaradua, a humble but no nonsense President. |

How many South African businesses are in Nigeria? Black South Africans hardly leave their country to setup medium scale businesses. You hardly even see them in Nigeria in business venture, unless entertainment and pleasure. Any South African business operating in Nigeria is owned by whites and already too big for any student union to close down. |

| Re: "We Will Shut Down South African Businesses" – NANS President Speaks by DeLaRue: 7:26pm On Jun 30 |
South Africans have behaved badly. That's no reason for thoughtless reprisals by Nigerian citizens. The government will know how react in a subtle but painful way that inflicts serious economic and diplomatic pain on South Africa. That's where it should end. |
